But when we got our ‘enter score’ for Uni they did all this bullshit scaling, they looked at your score and then scaled it up or down depending on what kind of subject it is, then they look at your classes and shift it using some fucked up logic, then they looked at the schools score and shifted it using more Mumbo Jumbo. And so on.

You might avoid that coming from Overseas but.

I tried to get into film and television at Monash, and despite having created a 45-minute, amateurish but still classy, if I don’t say so myself, Gangster movie for the sole purpose of a folio in the hope that I’d get in, I was still denied.

In order to get in they didn’t even ask to see it. They looked at my ‘enter’ only. No folio, no show of talent, no interview, nothing. (Sorry for the life story, guess I’m still spewing about it).

But if your Aboriginal or partly aboriginal you can get into courses way easier, I know you can enter into Nursing with only half the enter of regular people. I seriously considered putting that down on the questionnaires they give out, but then I looked into a mirror and saw the pasty white blonde headed little Irish / English / Pommy / French decent geek staring back at me and figured that would be pushing it.

This is uniform: chicks think accents are sexy. However, with the world in its current state, you might not be so popular if you don't hold the correct political stance. They don't have the same brands over here so don't get weird and cocky about which brands you wear. Melbourne is spelled Melbourne, and colleges everywhere range a lot. There's a huge difference between Yale and Columbia and your local community college, and you can expect the same differences over there.

Each language has different vowels and consonants, pronunciations, and rhythms. When an area is dominated by one language, and a group moves in speaking another language, the new group will pick up the dominant language's vocabulary, while still maintaining their own pronunciations and rhythms, causing an accent.

For the language we call Modern English, the purest speaking of it (meaning the closest to no accent) is the northern Midwest in the US. Midwesterners still have an accent, but it's closer to the dictionary pronunciations and rhythms than any other English speaking region's accent in the world.
