Default Do you believe?

Do you believe in love at first site? For some this may be a stupid question, alot of you may have read a few of my threads in the past about my girlfriend Kelly.

A little background on myself first.

My names Andrew I'm 17 still in high school I wouldn't consider myself the most popular guy in school but I have a fair amount of friends and I have my fun. In my little expirience I've had in the dating game I've had like 3 serious relashionships, serious meaning over a year. And well, I can honestly say I dont think that I've ever been in "love" I do believe that I have had lust and it was very strong for my past girlfriends.

But this newest one Kelly, is completely amazing, the perfect girl for me. She's smart funny, sweet, athletic, beutiful. Pretty much every guy's dream. The thing is, I havn't known her very long, maby 2 months top's (I dont feel like doing the math right now) I mean, she told her best friend to pretty much fuck herself because of me, which means she obviously cares for me right?

But the point I'm trying to make, that do you believe its possible for someone to meet another person get involved in a relashionship and "fall in love at first site " so to speak, I mean, it's not actually at first site, but I've only known her for a shot amount of time.

I mean, do I love her, or am I just "falling in love with love" To quote deadlycindy?

I do believe in love at first sight but it can be very misleading and cause you great trouble. My timid nature has twarted me many times. You should get to know her better befote you try asking her out.

I dont understand what you mean, try asking her out? I am out of that sixth grade mentality of will you be my girlfriend. I've hung out with this girl so much in the last 2 months that our friends and family consider us a couple, thus making her, my "girlfriend"

Sonny boy, you have to ask yourself a question.

Are you happy without her?

Are you happy being single and free Andrew...Or would you be happier going out with Kelly?

It's like Louis DePalma from Taxi said:

"I used to be happy just sitting at home watching the Mets...Now I'm not even happy doing that if Zena isn't sitting with me!"

Love is the end of happiness man!

I think you'll be able to find the answer you're looking for.

Good luck man.

Well, before I met her, yes I was, now that I've spent so much time with her, her and I have really grown together, so the awnser to that question would now be, no I am much happier when I am around her, and when I not I am most likely thinking about her.

quote:Are you happy being single and free Andrew...Or would you be happier going out with Kelly?

It's the same thing I said before I would be happier with her, what do you mean by single and free? I can deal with staying in with my girlfriend every few nights rather than going out and getting wasted with my friends.

How so?

quote:Good luck man.

Thanks man.

scientists have came up with what they believe to be the answer to love at first sight. there are certain biological markers implanted in our mind from who we were raised around to random shit that determine who we are weak to so to speak.

so the answer is, no there is not love at first sight. there certainly is wanna fuck the hell out of her at first sight. thers oh my god i would love ot be with er at first sight. but as far as actuallove? no. this initial fascination may lead to a relationship, but its only that way, and not to do with looks ultimatly.

Heh, so much to the effect of what I am currently expiriencing, I didnt fall in love right away (or so I think?) rather after I got to know her a little better, we'll just say rushed love.

It's possible, but rare. I think it's something that a couple will realize in retrospect more than they will realize as it's happening.

One thing I've learned is to be very skeptical of feelings for the first, oh...3 months. Things are still new, exciting, intoxicating, all that good stuff. You're still on your best behavior. This is, indeed, a period of infatuation.

Eventually she'll show her petulant, ornery side when she's on the rag. Eventually you'll show your impatience when things don't go your way. Eventually you'll catch each other when neither is having a good day and neither feels like soothing the other. These are just examples, and may not apply to you two at all, but no one's perfect and we all have faults we can't supress forever.

If you conquer stuff like that, and still feel giddy about each other, then you can look back and say "Wow, that was love at first sight". If you feel "What did I ever see in you" then it was infatuation.

Another thing particular to your situation is the Sam thing. Perhaps Kelly already was feeling like distancing herself, since Sam seems like she has the sort of issues that drag friends down. Maybe you and Kelly are both a bit relieved at getting her out of your lives, and that's a bond right there.

Yes. You do realize you're billed $75 every time I respond to a post, dontcha? You probably didn't get the first bill yet. Oopsie.

Um, no. I'm just twice the age (or more) of the average totse user and didn't exactly follow the beaten path on my way here. Thanks for the kudos.

Ah, Taxi was a great show.

I think what it means is that being in love takes you to a new level of consciousness.

Say you like sandwiches. You make your own, and enjoy them fine. They may even be your favorite food, with your 2 slices of a favorite bread, just the right amount of mayo and/or mustard, a slice of cheese, some meat, some lettuce, maybe a slice of tomato if it's handy.

But then someone comes along and starts making sandwiches for you. S/he maybe does it a little differently; rolling the meat slices, brushing some vinegarette on the lettuce, assembling the sandwich in a way that it doesn't fall apart like yours, puts on different but tasty things like sunflower seeds, red pepper strips or asparagus.

Then when s/he is gone, you make your own sandwiches again, and they're okay, but now you think they're never going to be as good as s/he made them for you. You try to put on the same types of ingredients, but the result is not the same. You eat the sandwich, it takes the hunger away, but you don't enjoy it as much because you now know there's something better. And you can't have it without that person.

At least, that's what I think.

I dont think that's quite what they were saying though, the way I took it is that I would never have any fun again because of the way I feel for her.
