I got tested for STD's for the first time today!! How exiting. Results get back in two weeks. Was an unconfortable experience, I must say, though. Wasn't exactly pleasant having a q-tip inserted into my urethra and twirled around; but it's about time I got tested. My penis hurts just thinking about it. Wasn't really painful though, just uncomfortable.

lucky you just got the Q-tip. they also do a sort of probe thing that opens up like an umberalla and takes samples by scratching on its way back out....can't remember what its called but pissing becomes torment afterwards.

Semen is an unnecessary contaminant that would make testing more problematic (and expensive) for simple bacterial infections such as gonorrhea and chlamydia. The bacteria which causes this lurks in the mucous membranes.

It's just the more complicated viral infections that must be detected in a blood or semen sample.
