what do you guys think is the perfect bra size? (im a 36c.)

If the breast fits comfortably in a wine glass then it is rumored to be the right size. I would prefer a nice C.

Well since I'm stupid I don't know the bra sizes :-). I prefer happy handfulls, anything more goes to waste.

The perfect size is the size of the woman I love. The only woman I loved (so I thought) was pretty small; like upper-B. I think 36, but I forget, and it was perfect at the time.

Having said that, C is nice.

40E (same as 40DD) is kinda hefty, actually. Maybe you misunderstood the size? Perhaps her overall bust measurement is 40", meaning she might be about a 36DD?

A quick lesson on how bras are sized: The number refers to the ribcage measurement in inches, just under the swell of the breast. So a measurement of 40" is getting on the tubby side, unless she's exceptionally tall and "big boned".

The letter refers to the difference between the ribcage measurement and the actual breast measurement at the fullest point. If the breast measurement is less than the ribcage, it's an AA. If the measurements are the same, it's an A. 1" more in the breast is a B, 2" more is a C, 3" more is a D, 4" more is a DD or E, 5" more is a DDD or F. And so on, more or less.

This might vary slightly among manufacturers and countries.

Ah, this is true! A is the only letter which, in multiples, means smaller. AAA is smaller than AA, which is smaller than A.

I don't know why manufacturers use DD or DDD when they're also known as E and F respectively.

On the contrary, I think Cs predominate, sell quicker, and are harder to keep in stock. Not all retailers can just order as many in one size as they want, I've found out.

At the VS sale, As, Bs and DDs are the easiest to find because Cs and Ds sell more quickly.

Well, I'm a D. It's more annoying than anything else. I used to get teased for it a lot back in high school, and going without a bra is just not an option. Some people like breasts big enough to suffocate under, but it seems to be the minority. I've lost over 30 pounds since high school, and they're *still* awkwardly huge.

My rack is surprisingly perky, but that's because it's meticulously maintained. The only time I go without support is when I'm sleeping. I figure the less wear and tear they get, the longer they'll maintain their shape.
