her husband takes her back and forgives her which is fine(its what the bible says to do). but now he insists that she sleep with him WITHOUT A CONDOM!

apparently he believes the bible commands that the only reason to abstain would be for reasons of prayer.good book don't say nothing about deadly viral infections...

If he is so strict on the following the Bible...he should have her stoned to death for adultery. That is the Old Testament way. As for the New Testament, I believe adultery is grounds for divorce.

wether adultery is grounds for divorce is one of those really tricky new testament questions. the general consensus is that it isn't but could be ,may be ,perhaps...

The majority of the bible has either been lost over the years or burnt a few hundred years back in Europe. The rest that was left has been re-translated so many times that fundamentalism doesn't work.

The Catholic church (and other Christian religions, but especially Catholicism) is so full of loopholes and bullshit it makes me sick. My ex-girlfriend's mother was uber Catholic so she always argued on her mother's side. The main thing that we argued about was birth control. Apparently there is a technique that involves close watch on a womans menstral cycle that is supposed to descease the chance of conception (since they can't use any for of real bc). When I asked how this is different from normal bc, except for the fact that it is less effective, I was told that it is a "natural" method. The hypocritical part about it is that Catholics believe that God will let a woman become pregnant at his own bidding (hence why they think that bc is meddling with God's will blah blah blah). What didn't make any sense to me is why they could perform a "natural" form of bc, which was encouraged by the Church, but couldn't use a man-made form of bc. By their own standards they are all interfering with the will of God. Crazy assholes.

I think you'll find its called the "rhythm method", Little Pea, and I think the "God will let you get pregnant when it's you time" thing is the belief of you girlfriend's ma, as opposed to the whole Catholic church (although there's that whole 'predestination' thing). But I'm lapsed, so I don't really give a fuck.

Following the moral principles of the Catholic Church it would be acceptable for the married couple in question to use condoms while having sex because the intended purpose is preventing the spread of a deadly disease rather than for the purpose of preventing pregnancy.
