I'm seeing this girl right now, and for a while i thought she was from a rich family because of her 'expensive tastes'; but i met her parents the other day and they aren't rich, at all. they live in a modest house in the city, the father is a technician/elecrician and the mother is a teacher, yet the daughter looks like she's straight out of bel air... any comments?

ok, i am friends with my government teacher, he makes 75000 a year, and if he retires in 4 years he will get 57000 a year.

My cousin was a plumber right after college, so was his dad and his brother, he got quite a bit, i think at most i rember he brought home 5000 in one month, thats about 50,000 so its possible they arent as bad off as they seem. I mean, i would never live it up if i had money, which i dont. I love blue collar living.

upper arlington, hes worked there like 35 years. its in the burbs. but now he only teaches 4 classes, thats like 170 mins a day. so that means he works a total of a little under 4 hrs a day. well he has meetings and shit but still, 4 classes a day. 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month, 10 months a year, thats like 100 dollars and hour. THATS INSANE

There's usually a professional conflict. Dermatologists will do stuff to minor lesions, like cryotherapy and radiotherapy, and refer the larger or more omnious ones (like melanoma) or the ones that recur after their own treatment to the surgeons.

And then the surgeons swear because a small skin lesion after radio or cryotherapy looks more like a large third degree burn and it usually needs skin grafting by then.

Rabbi, I was just reading about a dermatologist in a malpractice suit. While administering a "simple" collagen injection, he managed to kill a nerve and cause half this woman's face to "fall". Oopsie.

Electricians make far more than $15/hour in the USA. More like $25-$75/hr, depending on geography and whether they work for themselves, a contractor or a corporation.

Anyways, sounds like these people know how to spend money but it doesn't mean they have much. Anyone can do that; it's as easy as falling off a log. They could be up to their eyeballs in consumer debt and never have more than a week's pay in the bank. Or, maybe they own the house outright and/or it could have been inherited. And maybe they know how to be frugal in some ways so they can provide all the things money can buy for their daughter, which is poor parenting.

The bottom line is that you can rarely judge someone's financial worth by appearances and material possessions. Debt runs rampant in the USA.

in new york teachers make alot (>60,000) but in the south, not so much (<40,000).
