If you use a condom correctly and put it on right, it has like a %99.9 chance of being effective. Seriously, condoms work like charms if you use them right.

Its 100% effective if used correctly. The 2% margin of error (i.e. when people say 98%) is taking into account people who cannot put it in correctly (pinching the tip whilst putting it on, to make sure there is little/no air in there - else it'll burst when you shoot) or stay in their gf for too long after finishing making love, go flaccid, let the condom loosen and some strange feat occurs where spillage can travel upwards.
