she's going to be hurt anyway, but if you just tell her the truth she won't be hurt as much.

so just tell her how you feel

She sounds clingy: You may as well have fun with it and be like, "It's not me, it's you. You're obsessive, clingy, and your musical taste blows ass. I'm leaving you for someone else." Now, as much as it sounds like that will devestate her, it won't. It will really piss her off, but there won't be as much sorrow as there would if you were to let her down gently. Also, with a breakup like that, she won't try to get back together with you.

that actually sounds like a decent plan. well its better than being cold to her then letting her watch me having fun with another girl. though it might still make her feel like shit cause i dumped her befoure because of stuff goin on im my life and she took it the totaly wrong way and thought it was all her fault and i felt really bad for making her feel bad. that was 4 months ago though.

the only way i see around this is to have 2 gfs, if they both like you so much and you like them both then it should be no problem, just ask them both what they think about it and 1 of 2 things happens 1.she agrees 2.she thinks your a pervert and doesnt want to see you anymore or the terrible #3. she thinks your just kidding and wont let you go no matter what.

You could try being honest with her, just sit her down and say "Look, I'm a complete wanker and I actually prefer another chick to you simply because of something as completely irrelavant as her taste in music, I mean, you like punk and I just don't see a future in it."

... she'll leave on her own, trust me.
