cystitis/morning after pill/birth control
Okay, I have a few questions:
1) How long should one wait to have sex after having cystitis, if the only treatment they had was drinking lots of cranberry juice?
2) Can the morning after pill make your period come like 2 weeks early? The doctor told me I could spot, but I've started a period, even though it only ended a week and a bit ago. I took the pill a week ago, and this "period" started 2 days ago.
3) Can someone suggest a method of birth control (other than condoms or the pill) that wont rob me of my libido. I hate the pill, but I'm guessing the patch or injections or whatever has the same hormones and will have the same effect on my sex drive.
Anyhow, thanks in advance for any advice you guys have.

Re: cystitis/morning after pill/birth control
i've never used contraception but a couple of g/f's swear by the good old cap. apparently with spermicide its 99% effective and once you've praticed a bit very quick and easy to use. i've watched them insert it a few times and its the sort of thing anyone could do in a few seconds .
and if you're bored its a great toy -you can even have 'dog fights' with it if a g/f has one too. or you 'shoot' and she catches.great! and if thats not fun enough then cover it in spermicide then shoot it and then even if they catch it ,it'll slip back out of their hands and fly further.

Re: cystitis/morning after pill/birth control
If it really was cystitis then i would either wait until the symptoms have completely resolved or 10 days have passed. But sometimes just the mechanical trauma of sex can itself cause cystitis, and it may all recur upon having sex again.
Girls (all girls here) DON'T treat a vaginal discharge, itchy painful vagina or fever with cloudy urine with "natural" treatments such as cranberry juice, unless your doc gives you the go ahead - which they most likely WON'T. They might tell you to take cranberry juice IN ADDITION TO some antibiotic.
The reason i'm being so spasticated about it is that untreated or incompletely treated urinary tract infections can spread upwards to the kidneys, and untreated STD's like gonorrhoea or chlamydia, which are mostly ignorable except for a smelly discharge, some fever, maybe a reddened irritated vagina, if incompletely or untreated can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, which is when the infection spreads upwards to the ovaries and tubes and causes big time infertility (most women don't even know they have it until they start trying for a baby) and big infection problems later on.
Treat your vagina like the Queen of the World, cuz it's the only one you've got
As for contraception, the injection: Depot Provera is a great option, once a month or every 3 months, i forget, and it's extremely extremely effective as a contraceptive.
About the morning after pill, as far as i know, it induces a bleed in order to evacuate the uterus from all it's contents so a period is expected after taking it. But it's not really a period, more like a withdrawal bleed, same as for the pill.

Re: cystitis/morning after pill/birth control
I've never used protection, due to the incredibly fucking stupid things I've done to my body, so I dont really know what advice I can give.
Cystitis, that's not catchable is it?
And aslong as it doesent hurt you, then having sex again right away is ok.
Diaphagram/cap is a tolerable form of contraception, allthough it's a bit icky to put in (and take out) and doesent protect from infection.

Re: cystitis/morning after pill/birth control
Just about any hormone is going to affect your sex drive though. It fucking sucks. Home free with birth control, and she doesn't wanna fuck. Now, there is no birth control, and a better sex drive, but we can't fuck without a rubber or something like that.
I think it is one big cruel fucking joke on men.

Oh man, I know what you mean, I always feel like an idiot when people start talking about using condoms, or feel sorry for the hapless previous owner of a condom I see carelessly discarded in a park. They fucking suck, aside from stoping infections and impregnations, condoms are entirely the worst thing in the world. I smoke so much pot I'm probably infertile anyway, so whatever.
