i HATE being the Best Friend
ok so heres another one of my tragic romances... i have this best friend, shes so beautiful, but anyway, i really really like her, we tried dating once but the whole being best friends kinda made it awkward that was a while ago, but i still like her... and weve become closer friends
i have spent the most of the year hanging out with her, she is my drug experemint friend, weve smoked together for a long time, we did E together (no we diddent have sex) we sat under a tree and talked for like hours
i want to kiss her, but what im afaraid is that, shes going to push me off and say i dont like you that way, and that would fuck up our friendship, but what if she does like me, im just too afraid to ruin what we have as friends, but we could have so much more as a couple
what should i do...
PS, she is a member of Totse... so im terrfired shes going to read this

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
Try to kiss her next time you guys are doing E/drinking/whatever. You can always blame it on the drugs

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
The true test of any man is to be able to put an insane amount of risk on the line for very little reward. In your case there is great reward, the choice shouldnt be too hard.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
You must go for it. This reminds me of a TV show on Disney channel. The exact same problem. Excluding the drugs. You must go for it. Some day it will be too late, and your friend will be gone, and you will never get the pussy.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
OMG, I never really thought of you like this. After all we are bestfriends. Please don't try to change ourfriendship in to something which will ruin EVERYTHING!
Just kidding, go for it, tell her how you feel, if you really love her she'll understnad and give it a try. And the best boyfriend/husband is also a bestfriend.

Thats the best advice in the whole world, i learned that the hard way a few time, but now i go for it. Heres my suggestion, next time your hanging out and getting kinda close ask if she wants to take your relationship farther or if she would ever concider you as a boyfriend or something like that trust me you'll regret it if you dont.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
Look man, don't be a pussy on the back burners of her life. Fucking go for it or the regret will always be with you. I only regret two events in my entire life: both of them happened to be not doing jack shit about my feelings. Suck it up and go for it; the risk IS worth the possible loss of friendship, the risk is most definitely worth the possible gaining of a life partner.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
I had the exact same predicament about a year ago, except I didn't go for it. Just do it man, if you know how you think she'll react. She probably will. It's not worth not doing.
Live in a way that leaves no regrets.
Your hopes and dreams are far more valid than you doubts and fears.
Even the greatest strategy is useles in the hands of a coward.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
why don't you just tell her with absolutely no drink/drugs. She'll admire your honesty if nothing else, but also if she's that good a friend things won't be awkward afterwards.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
Why don't you let the relationship grow naturally? I know this isn't what you want, but if it's anything like I suspect it is, you two are very close, and she will eventually recognize the reason that you two are good friends, because you are so compatible together.
Of couse, you could go for it, using whatever method you see fit to do the job, and it could be great. She could say, "I've been waiting for you to do that for so long." Which would be great. Or she could say, "Look, I just don't think we could be anything more than friends." Which would blow chunks. And then your friendship would be quite awkward. But as said above, it takes risk.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
for once i'm gonna go with the majority and say 'do it'.
but pick a moment when its totally private and you both are 100% sober then just tell her the truth that you want her and can't go on like this.
also take the pressure off her by making her understand that you'd rather she rejected you than that she sleep with you just cos she feared losing you as a mate.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
mhm....happened to me. it was really sad. i posted about it. I told my best friend that i liked him, and he fully gave me the "lets just be friends" line. but WORSE: he played around it for like forty-five minutes [we were online, cuz he doesnt go to my school so thats usually where we chat..>nazi parents]. i cried. it was awful.
definately go for it. even though i got turned down, it was still worth KNOWING. you have no idea how much easier it is to move on when you know for sure.

Re: i HATE being the Best Friend
If you really don't want her to find this, you should REALLY delete your post after you've gotten adequate response. If it stays in the first or second page or so, It will be found eventually.

Or do you want her to see it because it's an easier alternative to telling her yourself?

You can always make new friends, and being alone whilst in-between friendships isn't hard at all. Go for it, and never, ever, look back.
