Default Is walking up & saying "Hi, what's your name?" an outdated concept?

Just to get a conversation started? I know if a girl approached me in that manner she could be less than the standards of "who I'd approach" and it would get me interested in engaging in at least a simple conversation, out of curiosity if nothing else, and being intrigued by her boldness.. possibly sparking further interest.

Any thoughts on this?

it can work, generally speaking the quality of lines needed degrades as the level of attractiveness increases. Basically, if your considered hot it will work. If not, it wont as much. But there are exceptions.

i find the best way is to just stand next to her and start talking about something thats happening. No names, no pickup lines, nothing.

in line at fast food:

damn this taking forever

her: yea it is

reminds of the time...*now you go into a story that will make her laugh or admire you*

adapt it to all situations, and if she shoots you down just say..

"excuse me were you talking to me?"

and she'll feel dumb because you basically just implied you werent even talking to her. and if you real good, you can play off that and pick her up.

If a girl approached me and said, "Hey, what's your name?" They would probably have to follow it up. If girls think the same as us in that issue, then we just need to make sure we actually can start a conversation after initiating it.

when I met my girlfriend for the first time at a party she just walked up to me and said "hey, I'm Nicole, who are you?". an hour or two later, we were making out, and two years later (now) we're still together. and while she isnt overly "hot" (shes very pretty)it obviously works.

i do it all the time. there's nout out-dated about it, as long as you can follow it up.

not if a girl looking at you like you are a jerk and telling you to fuck off isn't an outdated concept.

Walking up and saying hello works sometimes.

Unless the girl is a stuck up bitch!

If she is a stuck up bitch then she is going to think she's better than you and not talk back to you.

It's not an outdated concept at all...It's just about finding the right girl to implement it with.
