The Finer Things in Life
What are your favourite things to do which involve no money at all, just you and the world around you.
Mine is laying on the grass on a sunny day.

Re: The Finer Things in Life
I've had a moment to think about this now. The best free thing I suppose I like to do is observe people. Not in a stalking kind of way, but just to see what makes people tick, react, etcetera.
BTW I haven't figured anyone out to this date.
I posted a mean-spirited thread yesterday... it was free. Got locked. Actually it wasn't intended to be mean, I respect the subject and the topic locker, and now I feel kinda bad, so I guess maybe it wasn't free?
Oh yeah, the laying around in the grass is okay too, as long as there are no fire ants around.

Re: The Finer Things in Life
^^No one took it as "mean spirited" so don't worry. You know you make good posts.

Thank you. Now I don't have to say it.
Our local library has an ongoing book sale room, with a couple of "freebie" shelves and free magazines. I like to check the selection once or twice a week, and have gotten some good free books, including recent best-sellers, textbooks and lots of funky old 60s-era paperbacks. Plus I take a few magazines at a time and use the pictures to make collages and other artsy projects.

/me cries over and over again because his library sucks the small ball of the solar system (Pluto and Mercury).

Let's see, for me, right now, the finer things in life would have to be the ten dollar sun glasses I bought today. This acne medication seems to be making my eyes see light ten times more.
Well, for no money masturbation rates damn high on my list. Talking to people on my computer (be it on totse or on a chat network) is good, and seeing as I don't pay for the internet, it is free for me.
Showers are nice as well, not paying for the water is nice as well. Reading, as long as I bring the books back on time is great. Laying in bed and thinking is nice as well.
Snapping my neck fast from left to right and back to left is good, although most people tell me that they are horrified that I just snapped my neck.

Frolfing (Disc Golf)
- Its free
- Outdoors. All the courses I have seen are very clean and look beautiful.
- Frisbees are fun.
- You can smoke on the courses.
- You can be intoxicated on the courses and get more intoxicated during play.
- Everyone on the course is usually very friendly, peaceful, and relaxed. (Good atmosphere)

Contentment (to me) is a breeding ground for complacency. Infra, you do not strike me at all as a complacent individual. High strung, opinionated and brutally honest to a fault.. well spoken and articulate in your postings/thoughts (even if they are meth-induced) lol... but complacent?
You must be coming off a binge.. ain't never seen you post a 2 sentence reply. Crash my friend... get SLEEP!!!!
Thanks cindy.

Contentment is a breeding ground for a good life. You can be content, and yet be high-strung and honest and opinionated, too. I've not been content for a long time, is all; some shit's always been on my mind, no matter what it is.
And damnit, I'm well-spoken and articulate whether I'm on meth or not. My tweak posts just tend to be longer. And damnit, I'm not a chronic meth user. Even if I wanted to be, there's not enough shit around here to be. I just jumped on the shit I have now because I know I'm likely to never see it for months, after this.
And I'm pretty much off a one-day right now. Hands are still cold and dick is still shrunken, but I'm not stimulated anymore.

Re: The Finer Things in Life
Okay, this costs money but since I already had a topical response, now I get this one.
I love riding roller coasters. But not just any coasters. Most are mediocre at best. But there are a few that are just an unreal experience. Here are some of my favorites:
Raven (http://www.holidayworld.com/hw_video.html) (wooden coaster @ Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN) The lift hill is only 80 feet tall. The track is only 2,731 feet long. It only lasts 1:40 including the lift. What could possibly make this little ride consistently rank as the top wooden coaster in the world? Ever want to experience the feeling of flying? How about being completely out of control of your body and tossed around like a rag doll? Of course not in a bad way
it is rough in the best way possible. The airtime (flying up out of your seat/negative g-forces) on this ride is abundant and perfect. The pacing is a work of art. The wild ride through the woods staples a silly smile to the face of everyone riding. And if you ride at night during a new moon in the last seat, the terror you experience will last with you for the rest of your life. There is nothing like being on one of the wildest rides around when you cannot see your hand in front of your face. Raven is one of the few coasters that gets better each time you ride it. Best seat: 6.2 (that is the sixth car, second seat; in this case that is the back)
Legend (http://www.holidayworld.com/hw_video.html) (wooden coaster @ Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN) Arguably the most complete wooden coaster in the world. It is taller, faster, and longer than Raven, and delivers splendid airtime and outrageous lateral forces. The track is disorienting. You would need several rides before you could come close to drawing the layout. Both of these coasters are maintained in exquisite condition and track extremely well. While it lacks a little of Ravens magic, Legend is also a coaster I could ride all day long and still want more. Best seats: 1.2, 1.1 and 6.2
Shivering Timbers (http://www.casabrian.com/parks/miadv2001.html) (wooden coaster @ Michigans Adventure in Muskegon, MI) Very simple out and back layout. So what is so special about a coaster designed similar to so many others? Airtime. Butt off your seat airtime. With nearly 40 seconds of negative g ejector-air, this ride is the king of airtime. She is temperamental though. In the morning it may give half as much air at most. But in the evening
look out. Hill after hill will have you flying up floating for so long. There is nothing like noticing your ass is above the side of the car to let you know this is no ordinary coaster. Best seats: 1.2, 1.1 and 6.2
Millennium Force (http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill/millennium/photo_gallery/mf_photo_2.cfm) (steel giga-coaster @ Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH) In a park known for breaking coaster record after coaster record, Cedar Point shattered the record for tallest coaster in the world in 2000 when they opened Millennium Force. At 310 feet tall with a 300 foot 80 degree drop, Millennium Force was like no other coaster before it. It maintains high speed though one of the longest tracks in the world and make you want to ride again and again. Best seat: 1.1
Volcano: The Blast Coaster (http://www.kingsdominion.com/i/volcano.jpg) (steel LIM launch coaster @ Paramounts Kings Dominion) What can I say about this ride? You get shot up out of a volcano and fly high above the park dangling below the track. It is only about 40 seconds long, but every second of it is awesome. I got to ride this the first day it opened (soft opening, it was not scheduled and happened in the middle of the season
yeah I got lucky) and complete strangers were slapping high fives and could not stop talking about it. It is just a great ride. Best seat: 1.1
Top Thrill Dragster (http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill/ttd/index.cfm) (steel hydraulic launched strata-coaster @ Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH) It was not long after Millennium Force opened that the record for tallest coaster in the world was taken away by a park in Japan with a coaster 8 feet taller. What did Cedar Point do about that? They smashed the record again by over 100 feet. At 420 feet tall, Top Thrill Dragster (http://www.cedarpoint.com/_upload/images/galleries/images/TTD07.jpg) is in a class by itself. There is only one hill, and start to stop is only 17 seconds, but they may well be the most intense 17 seconds of your life. This ride launches you from 0-120 mph in under 4 seconds, then takes you straight up twisting 90 degrees, over a tophat (http://www.cedarpoint.com/_upload/images/ride03_pics/constpics/Construction206.jpg), and straight down twisting 270 degrees (http://www.cedarpoint.com/_upload/images/galleries/images/TTD37.jpg). If there is a sadistic side to you, sitting in the bleachers watching the faces of those about to launch is priceless. So many tough guys turn to putty sitting there with the sound of engines revving. All eyes shift back and forth between the imposing tower directly ahead (http://www.cedarpoint.com/_upload/images/galleries/images/TTD22.jpg) and the light tree about to change colors. The wind force (http://www.cedarpoint.com/_upload/images/galleries/images/TTD42.jpg) on the launch is indescribable. The ride actually leaves you disoriented. I forgot about half the 20 minutes following my first ride, and many have had similar experiences. This is one you have to experience for yourself. Best seat: 1.1 left side
