So english Fucking rocked my socks off this morning!
The Hours was a great book (that I didn't read), but still it was awsome.
We got into a discussion on how Laura Brown was the hero of the book. And I realised
# 1) She isn't
and
#2) Something very important....
The reason men and women have problems with their relationships is very simple:
Girls want to Find themselves and THEN be IN love.
Guys want to BE LOVED so that they can find themselves.
I thought long and hard on this and realised that for every single exsample, this rule is true.
I can't think of one instance where it wasn't.
You see women need to find themselves so that they can have the capcity to be in a loving and caring relationship. This is why it didn't work, she needs to find herself. And I mean everytime, not just the last time, or the first time.
EVERYTIME, I have tried...
The problem is that men can't provide this space needed. Why? They NEED to be loved. They can't even return this love. They have to BE loved in order to find themselves, it's impossible for us to do it, without that love. IMPOSSIBLE! Once we are loved, we find ourselves. If we are never loved, we wither and die.
Even bigger is the problem that, while looking for ourselves, we can only BE loved, never return it. We can't see what the other person needs. Caring, understanding, space, or whatever. It's impossible for us to NOT focus on ourselves. If we try to fill another's needs, we lose sight of our true self. We just want them to love us until we find our true, purest self.

If the whole world loved, we'd all be fine..
