Default Does Bisexuality Truly Exist?

Hello, I don't believe Bisexuality is a real thing. Every "bisexual" i've ever met has a preference. I know a lot of people think there is a "sexuality spectrum" which i doubt. If there was such a thing, why would people come out as gay? That's a big decision to make when the whole thing is just a spectrum of preference.

I don't believe your sexuality is a choice, i believe it is something you're born with. I'm straight, but i'm physically capable of having sex with a man. It's not a "preference" towards women, it's that i'm disgusted by the prospect of having sex with a dude. And i am aroused at the prospect of having sex with a woman.

Which brings me to Bisexuality. I've never met someone who truly will fuck any gender equally. I've met girls who look for guys, but will (especially when drunk) make out with girls. Other female "bisexuals" i've spoken with have boyfriends but are willing to introduce a 2nd girl into the bedroom.

"Bisexual", in my opinion is something that people call themselves in an attempt to be "open minded" or make themselves appear to be kinky. Straight girls call themselves bisexual to put the idea into men's heads that anything is possible.

If i'm wrong, i don't mind hearing some other opinions on this. I'm not bi-phobic, and i'm certainly not homophobic, but i believe homosexuality is a real thing, and i believe bisexuality is fabricated.

In short:

Heterosexuality: not a conscience decision

Homosexuality: probably not a consciece decision

Bisexuality: a conscience decision

lets hear something,

theBishop

Hi. Bisexual with no preference. Now you've met one. ...kind of. If online counts. Honestly, I am attracted to guys and girls equally. I have had sexual feelings for both and I've had romantic feelings for both. Given, the romantic stuff never worked out with girls because I don't know any chicks I like who are into chicks. But the feelings are there. And the sexual stuff is definitely there. If you told me today that I had to pick either guys or girls to cut off (sexually, romantically) forever, I couldn't pick one. If that's not a lack of preference, I don't know what is

I've always thought "bisexual" meant that they were attracted to either sex, not that they'd fuck each sex equally.

If I'd have sex with a man, yet I preferred women would I be heterosexual? I think that'd make me bisexual, meaning I'm sexually attracted to both sexes.

The idea of a "spectrum" is wrong, I think as well.

Sexuality is a trinary (that means that it can only be one of three things) thing. You are either heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual. If you would never be attracted to someone of your own sex (which I think is nearly impossible, everyone, in my opinion, has a lewd thought or two about someone that the would usually never think about.), you're a heterosexual.

Well, that's my take on this whole "sexuality" thing.

Deffinition of bisexuality: sexually attracted to both sexes.

Get in your head: IT MEANS THAT YOU ARE ATTRACTED TO BOTH MALES AND FEMALES. IF YOU DON'T THINK THAT THIS IS POSSIBLE THEN YOU ARE AN IDIOT. PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTED TO SHEEP, LEATHER BOOTS, RECLINING CHAIRS, EVERTYING. IT'S NOT UNUSUAL FOR A PERSON TO BE TURNED ON/ATTRACTED TO TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, MEN AND WOMEN INCLUDED.

Jesus fucking Christ.

LittlePea, you're not really saying anything here. Yeah, i don't dispute that people have sex with both genders, but i don't really think this is "true" bisexuality.

Lots of straight couples have threesomes, whether this is a good thing or not, it doesn't make the odd person out bisexual in the way i'm talking about.

I'm not trying to be close-minded or even really judging bisexuals, i just don't think it represents a true, seperate biological sexual leaning the way i believe homosexuality does.

Bishop, what the hell is wrong with you? You're trying to make up a definition for a word that is already defined as something else, then argue about it. Bisexual: attracted to both sexes. Whatever the hell you're talking about and referring to as "truly bisexual" is not. It's just your weird alternate definition which you have yet to really elaborate on. Are you saying that a person must be 50% into men and 50% into women to be bisexual by your definition? Because that would describe me perfectly. And don't say you're not closed-minded when you're sitting here trying to argue that a walking talking functioning part of society simply isn't there

LP was actually saying quite a bit. Essentially, you're over-complicating a simple concept. Bisexuality has been around for eons.

quote:... i just don't think it represents a true, seperate biological sexual leaning the way i believe homosexuality does.

Of course it does. Homosexual men don't have sex with women. Heterosexual men don't have sex with men. Bisexual men have sex with both. Seems pretty mutually exclusive to me.

You always have a favorite no matter what.

If you have two kids, you have a favorite, two dolls you have a favorite.

Two cars you have a favorite. It's a flat out lie to say that humans do not have more affection for different objects or people.

This statement that you have no sexual "preference" over either sex is avoiding the laws of human emotion.

What's your preference, oxygen or water? (fuck water being made of oxygen, that's irrelevant) You need both of them to live so you're not going to get rid of either one of them. Besides, do you listen to only one song by one band? Is that all you hear all day long? Do you drive everywhere you go without walking one step? Do you rip off your left arm because you like the right one better?

I wish you would just leave. You only have one pathetic little follower, and he's proven to not know what the hell he's talking about ever. Just go. You're not needed here. You don't help anyone. You just get on people's nerves. But even then it's not really to the degree you're shooting for, so you just lose all around.

Ok the point was to say which one you prefer not what you could live without.

You need to get the basic grasp of the conversation little girl before you try and "join" in.

The point was that you are going to want to do one more than the other.

I doubt you need a man or a women to live GlitterPunk and you definately don't need both to live.

I don't really know where your concepts come from, but when put to the test of "real life" they crumble like a triscuit.

Please, think of another excuse to call me an idiot becuase you are losing this arguement.

The point is that it doesn't matter the preference if you need both. Or if you simply want both. You don't just listen to one song all the time. Why not? You must prefer one song over all the others, right? That's what you said. You can never like two things equally, so you should just go live your life only accepting your favourites. See how flawed that is? That, hun, is where you're an idiot.

This is all based, of course, on the idea that your dumbfuck theory is correct. It's obviously not. I like cheese enchiladas just as much as I like spaghetti. I love them both. I would never willingly give up either of them. If you put them both in front of me, I wouldn't know which to pick. That's what we call no preference. It exists. You're an idiot if you think it doesn't

You keep saying this over and over again, but simply repeating a statement doesn't prove your point. When someone disagrees with you, you still provide no evidence.

I don't understand why you would expect anyone to take your opinion seriously, since it's just based on your own personal prejudice rather than any kind of data.

As I said in a previous thread, there is no reason gender has to be relevant when one chooses a sexual partner. Some people are attracted to a women's upper breasts, some a man's inner thighs. Some are just attracted to people's necks or elbows, and don't give a shit about gender. Why should they?

I think you are being a little shallow when comparing relationships and people to food.

I think you need to realize that you would ultimately have to choose one.

It always comes down to which one you choose at that moment not over the span of your life.

It's ok, just keep thinking up some new curse words your "daddy" taught you.

This is not a question of preference. It is a matter of attraction and someone can be attracted to both men and women. Once again, preference has nothing to do with it. Go to www.dictionary.com (http://www.dictionary.com) and edjumicate yourself.

CarbonB, the definition of bisexual is "sexually oriented toward both sexes" (as of M-W.com (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Bisexual), "Of, relating to, or having a sexual orientation to persons of either sex." as of Dictionary.com (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=bisexual) as well.

Bisexual can't be the word you're looking for, because it is defined as what we're all saying it is.

Please, explain in more detail what you are trying to say.

OK, I like bondage, BDSM, role playing. I'm assuming everyone knows what that is. Now, because I like bondage, does that mean that I will not be turned on by any other type of sex? No. I'll do it doggy-style, missionary, or just "make-love" slow and sweet with the one I'm with. So, the fact the I primraly like bondage doesn't mean that I don't like any other kind of sex, it's just a kink. That's bi-sexuality is, a kink, a fetish. I like boys, but I like to do girls too. I like bondage, but I like golden showers too. I like doggy-style, but I like spooning too. Would you tell someone who thought midgets were sexy that because they liked midgets that they didn't really like anything else, that they were doing "regular" people to appease society. Or to "be cool" or whatever it is that the people who say bisexuality isn't "real." I like coke, but sometimes root beer is good. Why is not possible to like two things in your world? Why does eveything have to be so black and white? Why can't I just sit in the middle ground and make out with girls and boys? I don't understand.

bisexual being simply that you are attracted to both sexs, preference aside

asexual being those who have no sexuality whatsoever, they are attracted to nothing

pansexual being those who are attracted to certian personality types, gender having no real relavence, though i suppose it could be classified as bisexual, i dont think it's quite fair to

I think bisexuality is just a bunch of bullshit, a word to describe people who just want to fuck.

I don't believe that you can like both sexes equally. To me it doesn't make sense. You are always going to choose one.

I think you need to either be gay or straight. There is no inbetween for me. If you have sex with the same sex you are homosexual.

You may have sex with the opposite sex as well, but for me since I don't agree with what bisexuality represents and the people who are attached to that label, you are either gay or straight.

Ah, I see the problem. CarbonB, if you're homosexual, you only like the same sex. If you're heterosexual, you only like the other sex.

Bisexuality is when you like both sexes. Not equal (to be perfectly equal would be nearly impossible) but at least some.

If I (a male) liked women and men, then I would be bisexual. If I liked women more, then I would still be bisexual. Just because I'd like women more doesn't mean that I'm heterosexual, it just means I have a preferred sex. I'd still like men, and still, thusly, be bisexual.

Does that help any, CarbonB?

That's a big assumption. Why assume anyone would "always be thinking" about sex with others? What you seem to be implying is that "bisexuals" are the only ones doomed to aberrant thoughts.

Such a line of thought can also apply to a man who commits to a woman. He could think, "things are going great with this girl, but i have a hankering for some different pussy?" Change the italicized words to reflect different sexual situations.

Infidelity is often only a symptom of a greater problem. Folks have heard me say before that people tend to get married for the wrong reasons: status and/or financial security, to please parents/friends, "because everyone else is doing it", society expectations, and, most of all, being in love with the concept of being in love more than with each other.

quote: Now open the dating pool up from 50% to 100% and i wonder what will happen to a couple with a bisexual involoved.

Let's see. If you have a group that consists of 2 heterosexuals, one homosexual and one bisexual, which is most likely to cheat on their life partner? I dunno either.

Even though the dating pool might increase, I don't see why a person's tendency for infidelity would increase. One who wishes to roam will always have enough options to choose from, whether among one gender, or two.

Infidelity is not caused by the number of sexually attractive persons around you. It is caused by problems in the relationship.

Anyway, my actual point is that the desire to have sex with people is not related to sexuality in any way whatsoever.

Well a homeless wino vet who snuck into somebody's bedroom and lives under teh bed and sneaks out to use teh computre when nobody's home.

Anyway, maybee you shuold try kazaa or something because their si plenty of proof of bisexuality. Just look for "shemale" or "chicks with dicks." Double teh sex organs = double teh sex = BISEXual. And I suppose that their are many other bisexuals too apart from this most obvious and sexy group fo people.

For example there might be women with hairy chests and asses, or men who like cooking, or men with D-cup boobs, or women who are good at math. This si all hypothetical of course, but as a "thouhgt experimint" we can imagine all of these types and see that they bridge gendars just as surely as a woman with a wee-wee.

Oh PS presentation si vary important on teh Interet, yuo will never be taken seriously if you misspell "you're" as "your" ROFL.

I wonder if anyone committed suicide because of this post. Anyway, the whole idea of the post was to make people go "whoa! that's so true..." It didn't work, so I think it needs to be dropped.

I am openly bisexual, honestly no preference towards girls or guys. I agree with you that you are just born the way you are, and there is nothing you can really do about it.

I believe that most people are bisexual. That naturally humans are attracted to what they find beautiful and sexy, and it depends on the persons personality to determine if they will go after that or not. Most people in their lives will be attracted to both men and women. Many will deny this to others and themselves because they are told it's wrong. But really people are attracted to their own idea of what is sexy, and it really doesn't depend on gender.

Bella, this is sort of the core of the "born that way"/"not born that way arguement". I'm homosexual, i can't say i've ever been attracted to a man, but i can tell when a man is "attractive". I believe there is a difference there. Some people do not.

What the hell is your point? So what if you can tell if a man is "attractive." Whether you are attracted to him or not does. Shouldn't this have been settled already?

Well let me rephrase it then. I, as a guy, can say "that guy is attractive," but that does not mean that I am attracted to him. It's the same as if I were saying "he's handsom" or "he's good looking."

and this has nothing to do with being small minded, perhaps bisexuality exists, but 90% of people calling themselves bisexuals are just being douchebags.

then watch what you say because you'll offend the other 10%

i'm pretty sure you could get a bisexual without preference, but i've only met those with preference.

i'm not sure what i am. i would say i'm bi, but i am attracted to different kinds of guys from girls, and for very different reasons. also, i think the attraction to other girls is just a sort of admiration for them, i could never really see myself having sexual relationships with the girls i like. and they are usually straight as well.

so yeah i got a preference for guys... but hey if it's got a pulse it's good enough for me.
