Manipulation & Love
Okay, I went to go see Breaking the Rules or whatever it's called. The movie was okay on an entertainment level, but it does make you think. At one point a man asks this gold digger if she loves the man she is trying to marry. She says she likes him, but that a woman cannot love a man she can manipulate. Then he asks her what would happen if she met a man that could manipulate her, and she basically said she would fall in love.
Now I dont expect that many people are looking for someone to play them so they have someone to love, but she still made me think. Is the trance that you put someone in if you manipulate them the same as love? At first I thought, no. Then I was like maybe sometimes but certainly not all the time. Now that I keep thinking about it, I am not so sure. Your mind does go to mush if you fall in love, so that probably means you are vulnerable to manipulation in those circumstances. But is making someone fall in love with you as simple as manipulating them? I know that is not how you want to do it, but that is not my point. My question is just trying to understand the nature of this mental phenomenon. And is it true that a woman cannot love any man she can manipulate? I know that is true as a general rule, but I thought there were tons of exceptions. Now I am not so sure. Any thoughts? I am probably asking the wrong crowd here, but I thought Id post anyway to see if anyone had any insight on this.

Re: Manipulation & Love
Those who I can manipulate I cannot respect, and those who I cannot respect I cannot love.
... and, if after the warm fuzzies fade away, I ever get the impression that I've been manipulated... I'm history.

Re: Manipulation & Love
Notice how all the women on Totse say they need someone to control them?
Anyone get a case of deja vu wondering why all these women are bitches?
