Good for the homosexuals of Massachusetts. Gays in the rest of your country are still screwed though.

I really don't know what this thread is about but I'll type something anyways!

The way I see it, marriage is the union of two people who love each other.

So to me homosexual marriage is a great idea.

As for the governer or whoever of your state/city/whatever who says it's a bad idea...Well in my view he can take his opinion and stick it up his homophobic arse!

That is a perfect example of the power the people of the United States hold. The government has power over us, but if the people don't listen to the government, then something will be forced to change.

I'm all for gay marriage. Marriage is, after all (as psycho_8b said) a joining of two people that love each other.

So when is your appeal for inter-species marriges coming through Gustwat?

I hear that your dog loves you back just as much as you love him, even though the constant moaning can get troublesome.

What kind of idiotic reply is that? It isn't on topic, it isn't well thought out, hell, it isn't even funny.

CarbonB, you must be a sad, little man. You must have no one in your life to love, so you go on an online forum and make yourself look like a fucking moron in an attempt to make yourself feel better.

It is just really, really sad. Now go away. Just go away.

He's an ass and I wish he would leave on his own, but that should be his choice and not that of any mod. Just because you don't agree with his opinions doesn't mean he shouldn't have the right to them

CarbonB, in response to what you said, an animal cannot consent to marriage. They just can't. You know why? They don't speak the same language humans do. It can't comprehend marriage. That, and other animals aren't human. They're not part of our society. They're not citizens. You really need to think out your arguments a little better

I wish gay people could get married everywhere. I mean whats the big deal? It makes them happy and it has no effect on your life whatsoever. Your not being rewarded or something if gay people dont get married so who cares? If you dont support gay marriage then you are a homeaphobe or maybe have some secrets of your own waiting to come out of the closet...

Personally, I think its a good thing that gay couples can get married.

As for CarbonB, he should definitely not be banned. Really quite funny watching him post insults and deliberate wind-ups that ever decrease in intelligence at the same rate they rise in hypocrisy, and then seeing someone take his comments, crap all over them and feed them back down his throat - and by pure co-incidence he never returns to that same thread...

Not liking gay people, or not wanting them to be married isn't necessarily homophobic. Just because you don't like them, don't like what they do, or whatever doesn't mean you fear them. I don't like cheetos, but I'm not afraid of them. I don't like how a pussies look, but I sure as hell ain't afraid of them.

The term "homophobia" is a misnomer. A phobia isn't merely a fear of something, it's an irrational fear of something. "Homophobia" as a word is focused more on the concept of irrationality. Declaring a dislike for homosexuality without having any real reason is irrational because another person's choices in this regard have nothing whatsoever to do with a homophobic person. Most homophobes have such beliefs only because someone else (parents, church, Scoutmaster, Rush Limbaugh) told them to.

That said, hurray for gay marriage. I think it was prozak jack who said "let them be miserable like everyone else".

I’m from Toronto, we already have gay marriages in all of Canada. Massachusetts. is just doing this so all your gay citizens don’t head North. Imagine, your fashion industry would go bankrupt.

But seriously, whatever happened to equal rights? In the ‘Land of the Free’ gays should have the same right to lose half their shit as everyone else. And don’t give me that religious union bullshit, cause I’ll just slap you with a big fat dosage of separation of Church and State. The Church doesn’t have to recognize it, but the State has to.

Take that Governor of Massachusetts.

I'm all for gay marriages. To each their own. And particularly man-man marriages. More females for me. Unless they're lesbian. Hmmm, could be a conundrum.

Well...assuming homophobia simply means a fear of homos...then no, not liking gays would not make one a homophobe. I think its kind of stupid to describe those who dislike homosexuality as being homophobes. I mean, if I don't like you, for whatever reason, how does that imply an irrational fear. Irrational dislike? Sure, but fear?

That is an interesting thought, but I agree with Glitter's response. The one I have been asking is about polygamy. If the definition of marriage is going to change based on what consenting adults want, why limit them to just 2 people?

On the term “homophobic,” people in politics make up terms all the time to get power. That is just an ad hominem used to try to stereotype those who don’t agree with gays on everything into one group of idiots. Some people fall for that concept and some don’t.

The idea of challenging all of the definition of marriage instead of just some of it. I never thought of you as the marrying type Gus, but since you are a unique species, I guess we need a movement to help you out if that is what you want.

But my point is that homophobe doesn't mean that. Just because the "phobe" root is used incorrectly doesn't change the definition of the word -- English is full of all kinds of fucked up words but there's no sense debating the definition after such words enter common usage.

^Actually, there is sense in it. "Homophobic" is a type of newspeak used to manipulate thoughts. The concept should be challenged.
