I can still understand what the AOLers type, though. Instead of typing "two" "to" or "too", they type 2. That is a logical shortening, right?

The word "at" is shortened to the @ symbol, so "that" would be "th@". Logical? Yes. Annoying? Yes!

"Your" is much harder to type then "ur", and makes less sense. If he wanted to save a lot more time, he'd just type "ur" because people can understand it, it isn't already a word, and it is only two fast strokes.

My point is, thought, that we have the rules of grammar for a reason. If you don't want to follow them, then no one should have to read your writing.

What you do on here can affect your offline life. If you do something illegal online, it will get your offline thrown in jail.

Do you understand that they money they use isn't "real"? It is electronic data that is moved around as needed.

The internet will, no matter how much you don't want it to, become more of a part of "real life" then "real life" itself.
