just about every post i've seen on S&A about prom went along the lines of "it's just a waste of time and money" or "i got loaded instead" or perhaps "prom was such a letdown, the music sucked and the people sucked, and i didn't have any fun!" or the most common: "Waaaaah!!! bitch bitch moan moan, i hate prom! blah!"

i don't know what the hell you guys were bitching about but i had a hell of a time. Sure, the music wasn't what i prefer nor do i listen to it ever, but i still managed to have alot of fun. 'course there were certain thing that had to have been taken into account, like:

a) it was my first HS dance (if i had gone to any of the preceding ones i'm sure the repetition would've bored my ass off)

b) i had an awsome date. Sure he was "just a friend" but for a while there you could almost say we were more than that.

c) i met alot of my good friends and all of us (including my date) danced all night long.

d) i had never danced before. making a fool out of myself was alot of fun. especially since no one else could dance either.

and f) I STAYED OUT OF THE DRAMA! drama is the numbah one thing that'll screw up prom. i just said fuckit, go deal with it your self and leave me out.

my advice to others about this sort-a thing is to just have fun! prom is one of those once in a life time things you should just do for no other reason than to go and have fun. and for those of you who keep bitching about it: GET OVER IT!

i didn't go to mine cos me and my friends thought it would be shit. everyone came back and lo and behold, it sounded shit. everyone said it was shit.

whereas we had been running away from the police all night after getting pulled over as it were with a backpack full of alcohol, and we were underage.

ahh, those were the days.

so yeah, prom was shit. we had a great night.

That because these posts were created by the male members. Prom, and I think dancing in general is not something the typical male is interested in. The exception seems to come from either the garuntee of sex, or of drinking binges.

I just took a video camera to my prom to keep me entertained. A video is better than a few crappy pictures any day. My mates enjoyed trying to film down the girls' dresses as well, a bit stupid but no harm done.

The video also helped fill in the questions of why the hell i ended up breaking 2 ribs & bruising[sp?] my breast bone at the party afterwards.

Just a thought - Perhaps they went to a differant prom than you did. I'd dropped out before mine, so I didn't go, but at least three people their got stomped senseless with steelcaps. One lost all his front teeth, one got a permanant dent in his skull, and another got a tooth knocked through his lip and another one knocked down his throat.

But I suppose if I went there with a decent date things like permanant facial scarring would pale in comparison to the warm fuzzy I'd get from emulating every piece of shit teen romance hollywood film I've seen.

Side note ; This happened over two years ago, and Gummy still hasn't got dentures put in. Oh, we call him Gummy now.

My prom wasn't bad, but I didn't even get a good night kiss. That sucked. Oh well.

A waste of E. As far as I'm concerned, only alcohol has the ability to make shitty events fun. Other drugs just enhance fun stuff, and make shitty stuff bearable.

my prom was last night at ndp. im so glad i didnt go, instead i went over to my best friends house with a rather attractive girl and we smoked a quarter. i woke up with the rather attractive girl in a bed. so yea prom night ruled, prom i have no idea about though.
