Default why isn't it like the movies?

Man, i like this guy so supremely much, and i'm failry certain he likes me too. And he's like 27 i think and i'm 19-not that it matters. But what in god hell is the problem with this earth? I want background music when i see him, and i want us to go lunch and him to grab me and kiss me like a madly cool romantic movie. It's not fair.

Anyone else agree?

No, I'm afraid I don't agree at all. Ever see a movie being made? There are dozens of people doing something to create the shoot. The actors speak in exaggerated ways that has you thinking "Good God, what a ham!" yet on screen it ends up looking normal. Action often stops in the middle of a scene, re-takes are done, and it all looks repetitive and boring. The music is added on in post-production. It's not like the actors can hear it.

Movies are fiction. Why do you want to live a fiction?

Consider a new point of view, or you're doomed to constant disappointment.

I wish my life were like in the movies. I'd, for no logical reason, get superpowers one day. Then I'd fight the forces of good, and turn this world into my own personal playground.

...But of course, seeing as it was like a movie, some idiot would step up and fight me. Then, before he could kill me I'd shoot the director and script writer, then the hero.

Then, of course, the time of the Gustave would be at hand. Muahahhaha!!

What sequel? When it pops up "The End" with me, in my space ship with all that I deemed worthy flying off as the Earth explodes we all know what is going to happen...

Hmmm... If it was a major production, they'd try and make three movies out of it...

ok here is a real reply instead of the first thing that i thought upon reading your first post.

the reason life isn't like that is because that is fake and scripted while life is real and harsh. Be happy you have someone to care about in the first place

If there's no music playing in the background (this is metaphorical, by the way) when you see the person, it's not meant to be. Life is exactly like the movies, if you want it to be. Just depends on your point of view, and whatnot.

If you here music playing when you meet someone (that isn't, obviously, coming from an outside source [meaning it is inside your head]) you're a schizo (or have a small band of micro-musicians in your head, but I'm the only one that has them! ).

I don't understand why you consider it such a great problem that real life doesn't have the perfectness of movies in the details however I do have some suggestions as to how you can get what you want. For the music you need to get a magical genie and wish to have theme music like Peter did in the one Family Guy episode. Or you could just take to carrying a CD player and a romantic CD. If you want him to act more like a guy from a romantic movie then perhaps try asking him to occasionally do things like that. THat's all I can think of to tell you.

Cindy, could you please get on AIM more often?

I agree with you, life would be awesome if it was actually like that

You know what movie is actually like real life? Or at least, the concept of the movie is? "Mean Girls" Do any of you highschool girls agree with me?

To me, it seems like every generation, girls get meaner and meaner, it's not even funny

What is wrong with our world today?

I totally agree. If we could fast forward to the nude scenes like in the movies, that would be cool.

Nah, it comes and goes. Ever see the original version of Carrie by Brian DePalma? It was released in the mid-70s, and there's some serious cruelty in there. One of the most famous scenes involves a bunch of girls in the locker room, pelting Carrie with tampons and sanitary napkins because she just got her first period and didn't know what it was. I think the teenagers in the 70s were "meaner" than those in my (80s) generation, and they probably inspired the whole early-80s stalk-and-slash craze.

Life would be to predictable and boring if it was like a movie, I need erratic moments in life or I would end up very bitter with bordom.

Live is never like a film.

There are no happy endings, no sudden coincidences, no overpassionate arguments that end in beautifull kisses, the two main charecters dont secretly love each other but think the other hates him/her for the majority of the film, there's no sunset, no happy ever after, and there is no walking together laughing in the rain.

^^^ Yup. Just work, babies, adultery, divorce

end up alone livin' in a cold water flat in a four story walk-up. And the kids never call

or visit. And inflation keeps eatin' up yer pension. And the landlady is always peekin' out to see who comes & goes & no visitors after 11. And all those dirty feriners (where

do they come from?) are takin' over me old neighbourhood & I can't afford to move.

Ahhh! The only think to count on is me gin, loves me gin I do.

Yes, sure you love your Gin,

And just wait, you learn to love and lean on it, depend on it, and then it will turn round and rip your heart out,

in this situation via a stomach pump and a new liver.

Wow.. I really don't know how to reply to this. You're an idiot. Plain and simple. Nobody here is being mean, it's called honesty. Perhaps you need to get your definitions changed a little. I honestly don't understand how people like you can make it through life living in a dream world. People are not happy all the time, and theres no stupid ass music to play in the background.

As for this forum are name "Sex and Affection" thats a given to people who know how to NOT piss off people/mods. This is a stupid thread for instance, which would of been better left untyped.

Go Die.

Yo, Yoyo, that post was written to pull yer leg. I wuz makin' a piss poor attempt to fit in with yer negativity. Trying to picture meself an ol' pensioner in some backstreet of

London. Some creaky ol' wrinkle in a creaky ol' flat with a coin-operated gas meter & a washroom down the hall.

I wish I was drinking.

I may live in the wondrous *New World" but me

Gran, she went into *service* as a maid at 13

I guess you wish you were ever so lucky. I guess that's why she saved up & came here.

And some day,my darling moonmeister, you shall be an old pensioner living in some backstreet of London in a creaky old flat with coin operated gas and electricity meter, a shedding ageing cat and the daily soap operas your only form of company and entertainment, your pension hastily spent on a quantity of cheap alcohol which gives you a vague and brief hazy outlook on the world before, again, the effect wares off and you face another looming long week before you can drown your sorrows yet again.

In the evenings you shall sit before a gas fire that slowly leaks CarbonMonoxide into the room, as you shuffle about in your dirty gaping slippers and threadbare dressing gown, preparing your evening Ovaltine in a chipped mug with the news on in the background, the news you can no longer hear, or care about, or can even grasp.

You sit eagerly, waiting for the phone to ring or someone to visit,

once a month perhaps your children may visit, and in forced tones of gaiety they'll enthrall you with wonderfull tales of their excting lives, before gulitily leaving you, alone, again, but secretly sighing a sigh of releif and telling each other

'oh well, atleast he's happy, and he's got his soaps, afterall'.

Time passes, the TV fades, the cat dies, you get a new pair of slippers from your children at christmas.

You eagerly look forward to the day of your hip operation, you beleive that once it is done, you'll be restored to your prime and healthy self of the past, dazedly you dream of being able to play golf again, perhaps get a dog, play in the park with your grandchildren.

Alas, this day never comes.

You make it through the operation, and go home.

In agony and now unable to walk, you lie in bed, waiting for the pain to 'heal' so you can go and do that Marathon.

And there you lie,

staring at the photos that surround you, of all the things and people, dead and in thr past,

and then,

the next day your children come with boxes of chocolate and cheap get well cards,

to find you dead in your bed with one special photograph clutched to your chest.
