yeah my girlfriend wants to go to her prom at her school, but i dont wanna go cuz i dont have the money and shit plus its mad boring and all that other bullshit... any suggestions to get out of it?

i went to prom last friday, and it turned out to be hella shitty. The dance itself was kind of fun, i was freakin with the ho's.... but then in the cab ride on the way back to the hotel we were staying at for the hotel-after-party, my dad calls up her boyfriend (who i didn't know about) and tells him to come through to the hotel. That really fucked with my head, i'm still kind of pissed/depressed about it....It just made me feel like a dirty raqg being cast aside.

Sounds like you go to different schools. If that's the case and you only go to one prom, make it hers. I'm sure she's just dying to show off you/her outfit/her hair/whatever.

EDIT-To get out of it, be honest. Chances are she'll be mad at you for not wanting to go period, but at least you can spout some BS about being open with your feelings with her.

You have a few options. You may tell her exactly what you wrote above. You may encourage her to go with someone else. You may suggest an alternate activity for the evening that would appeal to her more. You may resort to deceit, trickery and/or humiliation to diffuse her desire to go (I have no suggestions for that, but perhaps someone else will).

It sucks. Hard. You get to stand in a room for five hours listening to oppressively bad music, where you'll constantly be supervised by chaperones. People will make polite, but stupid, chit chat. You will have to dance. Not to good music at a party with your homies and some hot ladies - to bad music, with strangers, in the midst of monogamy. You can't even take the edge off things with a smoke and a stiff drink, as I would do when being dragged to a dance club.

After all that, I didn't even want to go fuck my girlfriend. I wanted a cigarette and a brandy and some goddamn sleep. It sucked hard, and it cost me about $200 to boot.

i wnt to a few dances, but never danced. ive been about 6ft3 since i was 12, and guys my size dont look cool dancing even if they do have rhythym. the rule is, no one over 5ft10 should ever dance, at leaat being real about it.

my first dance was 7th grade, i went stag thinking someone would just dance with me. unless you have a date, it wont happen fellas. just try to line up the good after parties.

about prom: i wouldnt waste my time. all tis shit about regreting it later on down the road, is bullshit. if highschool is the highlight of your life, it might be, but otherwise it wont even be a memory.

you want to do something that youll have memories of? hang out with your buds, cause after highschool, most of them will go there separate ways. the old gang will be gone, never to return. now thats something worth doing.

...prom was fun last year. I'm going to this year's prom with the gf and Black Flag and his gf. I think that it'll be alright. I like dancing, so it ain't all bad. The afterparty (or rather Black Flag's afterparty) should be interesting also. Mmmmm, drugs.
