I'm considering getting fixed... but what if. What if, against all odds, I get a second chance at life and someone actually loves me and wants me to give him babies, then what.... then I go right back to being worthless! Argh...

I don't think Norplant is available any longer in the USA to new patients. How about in other countries?

The advantage to depo-provera over the pill or patch is that "user error" is minimized. A woman just needs to be sure to get herself to the doctor/clinic when it's time for the next shot. Depo provera still has an estimated 3 in 1000 failure rate.
