Funeral for a friend
Excusing the reference...Yet another emotionally-altering experience seems to be beginning to take place in my life, involving a longtime friend this time, instead of a partner, which makes it hit even harder, personally.
It's a typical situation. Best friends ever, she meets new boy, she neglects old friends.
It's typical, but it hurts, nonetheless. Somehow slowly losing a friend this was is more exquisitely painful than losing them in, say, a car accident; at least one had no idea that their friend was going to be in the accident, but in the other example, surely the friend is also aware of her slow alienation from her close friends, all for her guy.
I have nothing to say, really; I guess it's just a rant. I'm not asking for advice or sympathy, just using Totse like my own personal blog. If you don't like it, shut up.

Re: Funeral for a friend
So, she is not dead, but has a bf? If that is it, be happy for her.

Re: Funeral for a friend
I am. But it's still sad to see her drift away. It makes me thinks all her "friends are more important than love" talk in the past was just a lie.

Re: Funeral for a friend
Hi again, InfraRed:
Please be forgiving of her. She didn't "lie" when she said that to you in the past. It was true when she said it. It's just that times change, and things change when times change. She must try this new chapter in her book of life. Be happy for her. You will never "lose" what existed between you. Noone can ever take that away. Love, Venus.

Re: Funeral for a friend
I was about to answer you and then I read that Miss Pretty has this one covered. Change is a part of life. You are not going to hang out with the same buddies for the same amount of time till you're 80. I would not say she lied.

Re: Funeral for a friend
It should never be a sad time to see any friend find their own way, especially if their reason for growing away from you and the rest is because they have found their partner.
I don't tolerate friends who can't handle my dedication to my lovers... partners first, friends second, always.

Re: Funeral for a friend
Maybe I loved her. I don't know. I've left friends behind before, and it's never felt like this. But I hadn't really given her much consideration as a date, so...I don't know.
