Default Question for the Boy's of Totse

In a relationship, do you really like the person and want a relationship like the girl wants, or are you just looking for the sex and break up? This is a question alot of girls have stumped over for a long time. Most of the conversations I have had with other females always turn out to be you are only looking for sex, so therefore there is never any real love, feelings or passion in it.

it depends on a guy. you can't just lump every guy into either just wanting sex, or wanting a relationship "like the girl wants".

not all girls want a relationship like that either.

sheesh

I look (well, I don't have to look anymore ) for a girl who I can have intelligent conversations with, someone I can have fun being a dork with, someone I can talk about music with, someone who I easily tell everything and anything, (and get a response), someone who I look forward to hold tight every moment I'm not around her.. someone that makes me feel loved, cared for, someone who makes me feel complete and feel like I have purpose..

none of that would matter if I just wanted a piece.

And Celina has all of that.

I've tried having a relationship that was purely physical, in short, it didn't work out. I'd prefer to not do that again. BUT, that's only me, I'm a lot more sensitive and nice than your average guy. That's just what I've been told though.

Depends on what? Gothprincess89, I know this may get you mad, but, you shouldn't generalize or categorize all beings of that gender as being something. People vary, but most can seem cruel and like you said, only want sex. I am sure that you are a young girl, highschool or middleschool. In those grades, yes, boy's are very immature, infact, it is proven that they are 3 years less mature then you are. They are experimenting with life just like you are, but in a different way, some ways that are not too good. Seeing as your not a guy, you don't know what it feels like nor what it is like to be male. Yes, society today is sooo fucked up and says it's ok for males to not be virgins, but females should stay virgin until marriage. Or if you look at rap music videos, girls are the sex symbols, and thats all we are. Yes, I know what you are thinking, not cool. Well, I agree. Society is fucked up. But you still cannot generalize people and put them in categories. Yes, at your age its gonna be hard to find a guy that wants a relationship because they are just figuring out what the purpose of their tallywackers is. Give it time, wait, sit back and watch. Most of them will fall on their asses. Believe me, it will get soo much better after all of this, and it will be easier to find a guy who isn't totally into the matress dancing. Not saying you won't be able to find a boy that isn't like that in your age group, but it will be tough. Good luck.

Guy do not get into relationships for the same reason that women do and to think that they do would be ignorant. That doesn't mean, however, that we only get into relationships for sex. Men and women are different...woooooooow.

If all guys "only want sex", then girls don't want relationships so much as they want something to boost their social standings among their friends and provide them with free stuff.

the reason all those friends of yours talk about guys just wanting sex is because your friends are dating the wrong guys. When a girl goes out with a guy whos like captain of the football team mr popular, usually, he's just in it for the sex because then he can go up to all his football friends and say "hey guys, i just fucked that really hot girl last night" I cant stand it when i see a really nice girl going out with a total jackass. It really pisses me off that the girl cant see thru his football uniform.

one more thing: sex tends to destroy relationships because there is nowhere to go after sex. when a relationship ends shortly after sex, its not because the guy is just in it for the sex, but because the relationships not as fun anymore.

Most guys aren't just looking for sex. Many of them also want to look cool. Hell, I think for a lot of guys their social status as a result of a relationship and getting laid is more important than the actually getting laid part. Fortunately there are a few guys who are decent but they are often overlooked.

I used to look for just sex, then I got into a fuck buddy relationship with a friend, and started to devlop feelings for that person. Well, as you can all guess, that didn't work out. I was depressed as shit. I ended up moving about 600 miles away, to a place where I didn't know anyone. I thought I would never find anyone to love. Well, as soon as I got there, I met a girl.

We fell in love the moment we met, fucked the second night, and moved in together a week later. We have now been together for 3 years, and I have never been happier with my realationship, my self, or my life. Things are great. It just goes to show, that sometimes even if you give up, you can still find what you are looking for, so never give up!

haha 3 years more mature... guys stop wanting sex after high school... you are just full of shit arent you? do you idiots even realize why guys of any age are far more likely to be interested in a purely sexual relationship? its not because we are "exploring" life or are confused about how to use our penis. its because we have no desire for you cunts in anything but a sexual way. simply put: we meet you and you have nothing worthwhile to offer us except for sex. that doesnt change after high school, guys just get better at pulling it off.

Well, you're speaking for yourself. I'd rather have a girlfriend who I can call a best friend and have sex with as well. The whole relationship aspect makes it better for me, if I trust the girl I feel more into it. Casual fucks are good to blow your load, but meaningful relationships are sought by some guys, and in my opinion have a way better payoff.

Depends on the man, and depends on the girl. If you're stupid, any bloke going out with you wants the shag and then for you to fuck off and cook or something.

If you're bright or can have a decent conversation with someone, not only will men be more likely to be interested in a proper relationship with you, you're also more likely to figure if he wants just sex or not.

I personally look for a smart girl for a proper relationship, but if she don't shags I pack me bags.

I think that it is natural for guys to want more than sex. However, you girls often intentionally make relationships difficult, and after they become more trouble than it's worth, the sex drive is still there. Some guys cope by learning how deal with you girls, and some try to limit things to the bare necessities.

Basically, I take what I can get. If a wonderful woman walked up to me in the bar and wanted a relationship, I'd be down. Of course, having not met that woman, I stick with my drunken dallying. It's a charmed sort of life...

Actually, the girl I picked up last night seemed rather intelligent... now if I could just FIND HER DAMN NUMBER.

I don't know. I've never been in one. If I got into one... it would probably be for money. I would never get into a "serious relationship". I use people. Basically I find people that can get me ahead and I use them all I can. Relationships are very very very rarely useful. If you spent the time calculating numerous factors, you would most likely find that in a five year period, a married man with the same job as a single man getting the same income etc, the married man would hardly gain a cent if not lose money. For one thing, marriage itself costs a shitload. Not to say this thread is about marriage, but relationships that don't last 10 years at the very least seem very stupid and wasteful to me. Actually thats how I view all relationships.

I haven't started a relationship without considering, "I did like this girl?" Yeah, it works, it appears that I pick alot better, and seem to come together with that girl with more strength but, it also leaves a huge hole of disappointment that lingers for a few weeks after the end of the relationship. Even if I was the person who ended it.

As I have put it with everyone, when a relationship ends I just more or less say... "fuck." Right now it is "Fuck... Dana"

You'll get a variety of responses on a question like this. Different guys have different expectations in a relationship.

I can only speak for myself.

My initial attraction is physical. It's not like I'm going for the barbie-doll type of good-looking girl, just someone that is not ugly, with proportionate height/weight considerations. If it progresses past the 'initial attraction' stage then it's all about her personality. That can make a big 'decision making' step in my interest. A good/great personality outweighs some perceived imperfections in her outer beauty.

Next, I'll weigh out my perception of her physical and emotional standing against my perception of what will make me happy, and if the combined results appear to be a compatible end result, on both our parts, I'll pursue this relationship.

If that doesn't make any sense, what I'm basically saying is if the chemistry feels right I'm there for the relationship. Sex is great when it's happening but isn't the end-all be-all if you're looking for love.

Yeah.. I heard that from alot of women too. It's just a typical stereotype. Sure, there will always be men who only want sex from you, but the women who judge men like that and say we only want sex are just grouping us because they have no other way to psychologically better themselves; therefore they have to beat us down with a bland, overused expression.

In conslusion, yes men do feel love, and you should shoot your female friends that are stuck in the simpleton idea that men are only in it for the sex. They have never been a guy, therefore to judge is blatantly unfair, and yet they don't care. This could easily fall into the whole womens rights and equality area, since there are so many hypocrites. Anyways what I'm trying to say is.. How would women like it if Men stuck with the ideal that.. well.. I have nothing good at the moment, so lets say that all women were sluts.. or whores in mens eyes. Forever that way; how would you feel?

'Nuff Said. I gotta go change the banages on my leg. (13 stiches from biking) L8r all.

I won't even look at a girl with that kind of intent if I don't think it would work out for a long time.

But there are a lot of guys who don't even know what a relationship is. It really varies.

Interestingly, I know more girls who use guys for sex than guys who use girls for the same.

It depends on the person really. Trust your gut feeling. its always right.

Guys want both. For me atleast, i Know there are some chicks who practically have "use me" written on their forehead. These are the chicks you want physically, you dont care about personality. But when a girl with a great personality (who isn't like really ugly or fat) comes along, you want to have love instead of sex, because lvoe works is so much deeper than just physical attratcion to a girl you want to bone. So basically, yes and no. Dont know how to explain it any better.

I donno. I guess that usually in a relationship I look for a girl that is cool to hang out with, but also have a deeper relationship than just hanging out. As in, someone who doesn't mind if we go out with some of my friends one night, but also someone I can be really intimate with, and share feelings. As for sex, well of course I'm looking for sex in a relationship, but that's more of a bonus, and isn't really, and shouldn't be, the foundation of a relationship.

Thank you for everyone that has replied. Please keep replying. This is for a survey for part of my project, and partly for my curiousity (sp).

Okay... I don't remember being immature. I won't go into the bullshit "if you dont have anything good to say.." area since a forum is meant for your opinion.. but umm.. I was correcting InimitableBallerina and making sure the public/myself understood her point. If you want to start an arguement over nothing, by all means go for it. But I won't be held responsible if you spaz and kill yourself, or end up losing it.

Fool.

*Edit*: Btw. Don't tell me to shut the fuck up, and don't talk about my flaws when you're far from perfect yourself, you arrogant bitch.

Hah.

By the way, most men are just looking for emotional satisfaction whether it's through releasing pent up urges or finding love, or both; same as most women, I assume.

quote:In a relationship, do you really like the person and want a relationship like the girl wants, or are you just looking for the sex and break up?

I'll put it to you this way -- until I lost my virginity, I was looking to lose my virginity like a bad rash. Granted, that's not much to found any relationship on, but it's not like I was looking for one encounter and then a breakup -- I was looking for a relationship but sex was a pressing issue.

After I lost my virginity, I came to realize that not only was I looking for a good sex partner, but someone I could love and have feelings for.

quote:(...)you are only looking for sex, so therefore there is never any real love, feelings or passion in it.

That might be true for every guy who's over 13 and hasn't gotten laid yet, but it's not true for all of us.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume, for the moment, that you've only had experience with some of the more immature guys in town.

What you have to appreciate is that sex and the desire for sex is a biological imperative, since it's geared toward procreation. No guy who's passed puberty and has a healthy dose of androgens in his bloodstream is going to stop thinking about (and chasing after) sex until he gets it and decides, after a few sessions, that it's nice but it's not everything he's looking for in the long run.

A guy who wants sex and then a breakup is probably callous and uncaring, but a guy who wants sex is normal.

So, if you want to encounter guys who want more than just sex or who want to experiment more with the romantic aspect than the sexual aspect, do what most intelligent women do -- date older men!.

Might apply to most intelligent women under 25 years old. In my case, older men would be either divorced with kids and/or issues, or insane.

Date younger men then. We don't mature mentally past age 7, but emotionally, we reach maturity probably at 17 or so...depending on how quickly you get your heart ripped out by a cold hearted cunt.

I was once a mindless fukmachine. I did it in a stromdrain. I did it in the dirt. I was a pervert that lied for it. my life was based around sex and booze. Then one night after having sex with some total whore and being really drunk I sat there looking at this fire and thought to myself. I deciced I wasnt going to do that anymore. most people still think of me as being a drunk and a manslut but I haven't done any of that stuff since. my advice to anyone that can think for themself and is not wieghted down by society's expectations: have some respect for yourself.

I still can't get over what I did and have thought about killing all those whores but that would be pointless because I started it too. Now I met someone awesome (that I should have met years ago) and I can truely say that I love her, but she can't forgive what I did. she's a virgin and hates that I'm not. any advice for me?

Just quickly skimmed through the replies so sorry if my input is redundant.

Sardonicpillow is correct in stating the pigeonholing aspect of lumping everyone into categories, neatly stuffed away.

What I assume you're looking for in your posting of this topic is individual attitudes hopefully because that's all you'll get here.

Myself, I'm open to short-term relationships if that's what is available under the circumstances, BUT, I much prefer to be locked into a one-on-one relationship with the notion that 'something' is here and developing both physically and emotionally.

My perfect GF thinks about me while we're both off at work and can't wait to see me at the end of the day, and vice versa. Things can stagnate and we both realize that and keep things moving forward however possible, whether it's changing up our routine or keeping some familiarity to keep us grounded... just depends.

I'd rather be in a healthy relationship, doing what I can to make it work, than be stumbling through the dating scene hitting different women like I'm on a conquest. If there's a natural good vibe with 'her', I'll try to preserve that and make it last, if not, I don't kid myself, I'll move on.

way to bring up a dead topic. but anyway heres my advice.

i fuck when i want to fuck. i dont go out with girls i dont like that alot. that means i fuck girls i dont go out with. For me to call a girl my girlfriend, she has to be above my normal standards. So if i am in a relationship, no its just about sex. When im not in a relationship, yes its just about sex. And sometimes it starts off just as sex then develops into a relationship. im sure that didnt help you at all, but thats my life.

the reason all those friends of yours talk about guys just wanting sex is because your friends are dating the wrong guys. When a girl goes out with a guy whos like captain of the football team mr popular, usually, he's just in it for the sex because then he can go up to all his football friends and say "hey guys, i just fucked that really hot girl last night" I cant stand it when i see a really nice girl going out with a total jackass. It really pisses me off that the girl cant see thru his football uniform.

one more thing: sex tends to destroy relationships because there is nowhere to go after sex. when a relationship ends shortly after sex, its not because the guy is just in it for the sex, but because the relationships not as fun anymore.

i actually look for a real relationship...anything that happens extra is purely a "bonus" of being with them

Sex should be the icing on the cake. Like so many other things it can be improved with practice.

Its like picking a person for a team event based on only ONE of their skills. Without the ability to play well with others, communicate effectively, and willingness to make sacrifices, the team is ultimately doomed sooner or later. Great sex will only hold you together for so long.

I must admit I'm a bit of a romantic so I also believe you have to have that special something, the connection that you can't seem to draw yourself away from... But thats me.

And of course you get the complete opposite, guys that just want to screw as many chicks as possible, not really caring where or from whom it comes from. These types utterly disgust me. Oddly enough, girls seem to flock to these jerks for some unknown reason. So sad.

The *good* guys are out there though, just try to keep some common sense and take a step back once in awhile to look at the big picture of the relationship you are in. Some people are remarkably good at keeping up the "act" just to get to where they want to be. (In your pants)

In the end I think it boils down to the specific people in question, and since every person is different you'll probably get a never-ending supply of different views on a topic like this.

P.S. If you can't stimulate me mentally, I'll get bored real fast. And yes, I am a guy.

I'm a guy, almost 20, and still a virgin. I don't try to hide that fact because I'm not ashamed of it. If I really wanted it, I'm sure I could've had sex by this point. I chose not to because I personally feel it should be an intimate encounter with someone special, not the closest person of the opposite sex standing next to you.

Besides, I'm perfectly fine going Hand Solo

Women are all fucked up sex-wise. When they're mad at you they don't want to fuck you (it's crazy!). According to my gf, it's not some kind of punishment for fucking up, it's just that they don't want you then.

I listen. I think I'm starting to understand bitches.

I didnt read any of the replies... so sorry if im missing anything.

For me, a real relationship is more important to me then sex. Im still a virgin, and the reason i still am is b/c im waiting to find a girl that i care about who cares just as much about me. She doesnt have to be the hottest girl in the world and she doesnt have to be into having sex every weekend... all i want is a girl who i can trust and who trusts me back, who will always be there for me and always come to me when there are problems, and a girl who i can talk to and have fun with. Do i want to have sex, yea, but im willing to wait for the right girl before i do. And if any1 is curious im 16 and i hope you could tell im a guy.

EDIT

Just read all the replies. For all of you girls who think guys only care about sex... a lot of them do, especially in middle/high school age groups. Im not one of those guys. I personally hate sluts and look for real relationships, except im one of those overlooked guys you were talking about on the first page. I disagree w/ the guys who say that girls are only useful for sex and w-e else they say. My best friend is a girl, and i dont think any guy could do a better job of being a friend then she does.

Well to be honest in my case there have been a few times Ive been with someone just for the sex but thats all they wanted me for too so it really isnt any big deal. Now the relationship Im in now is a bit new to me in that she wanted us to get engaged and that idea grew on me rapidly in that I love her to death and thought yeah! No problem but things have gotten a bit sour of late in that other people got invlved in our affairs, not saying either of us were unfaithful or anything but some shit happened and while I was visiting her (She is in the USA me in Ireland) I walked out on he rbut we are sort of still together in that she says she never wanted it to finish, I want things back the way they were but am still a bit mad over some shit that went on and want it all sorted first.
