About sex & affection...imagine that!

Basically, I've been wanting a 'friend with benefits' for a while. For various reasons, I don't want a real relationship (basically due to age), but I would like a friend with benefits.

I've been in this relationship before, but with that one it was the girl who initiated it. My problem is that I'm very reserved when it comes to bringing up things like this...For instance, I'm nearly 100% sure that the girl I'm thinking of would be for a relationship like this (or at least not hold it against me if I asked and she wasn't interested), but I'm still too timid to even broach the subject gradually.

I guess you could call me a wimp, but that wouldn't really be helping me, now would it? I know there's probably no easy solution (save massive amounts of inhibition-lowering drugs, which would be my last resort), but how can I become less timid?

Maybe this should go in Reinvent Yourself, but it's a little more fitting here, so here it will stay until the mods say differently.

...DUDE, there is no answer, ya just DO it. No one else in the world is going to know what approach is going to work for you. You have to find your own way. If something matters to you enough then you'll just figure out how to get it.

Pretend like you have Tourette's syndrome. Be carrying on a conversation with her and suddenly blurt out "I need a fuck buddy", while twitching your head a little. Then return to normal conversation, message delivered.

You have a penis, therefore you're at a disadvantage. Every guy wants a fuck buddy. Don't tell me it's not the truth; that's the general perception of males, which makes it as true as it needs to be.

As for your approach, if you ask a girl to be your fuck buddy, it would take insane luck for it to work, even if she might be open to the idea in general. Do something risque instead. If you're ever in a situation where it would fit, slap her ass or poke/grab a boob. Should she react poorly, you were just fucking around (it's true). Maybe she'll like it, though.. take it from there.

Of course, if you doubt the possibility that she'd react in any way other than getting pissed off at you doing that, forget this whole plan of yours. You may come across the opportunity to try and get the fuck buddy thing started, but don't expect to be able to set it up yourself.
