One thing that has vexed me in archiving threads is the titles. Often they aren't appropriate for cataloguing, since they don't adequately reveal the thread contents.

Good Topic titles:

<UL TYPE=SQUARE>

<LI>befriending some guy at wal-mart

<LI>Guys, do you expect to get lucky when you hook up?

<LI>Why is it the best girls always live far away?

<LI>I'm not interested in girls anymore

<LI>Can a good friend be a fuck buddie?</UL>

Note that these are descriptive and directly relevant to the thread contents.

Less helpful thread titles: (please don't take this personally if it was your thread)

<UL TYPE=SQUARE>

<LI>need information.

<LI>whats the best way..

<LI>First Time...

<LI>Why Is This???

<LI>hmm...</UL>

In each of these cases, there was plenty of room to be more descriptive, or at least finish the thought.

And, d'oh, the forum has been drastically pruned again so we're down to topics that have been active in the past 5 days. If you have something to say to an already-well-discussed topic, please do so, even though you may have already discussed umpteen times before. This time they will be saved.

Can't you un-archive a topic, and rename it?

Nope, threads can't be renamed at all, even by the one who started it, unless they delete and re-start it.

I suppose I could copy all the posts and start a new thread for archiving purposes, but it just doesn't look as nifty.
