Default Why Is This???

It seems to me that most women are just plain "money hungry" If you do not have a brand new sports car or a big fucking wad of cash, most women will turn their greedy little noses up at you... I think this is so fucked up...errrrrr!!!!! What do you think???

Um...unless you live in the stereotypical rich white suburbia, then no, I don't see how you could have that problem in High School.

Why would you even waste your taime thinking about bitches like that? Anyone that I even consider pertialy respectable wouldn't give a shit. Unles you're shallow and care about things like that, I don't see why you would want someone who does.

The only women that "turn their noses up" at the lack of a slick car or hefty investment portfolio are the ones who actually consider those things to be important and have the ability to attract such men. In other words, less than 1% of women, methinks.

You'll attract the women you deserve to attract. It's simple, really.

What you describe is more pertinent to the younger era. As you get older values change.

A more mature woman is likely to focus less on looks & money, and more on compatibility and stability. While a guy is more visual by nature and places a lot of emphasis on physical attributes before what's 'inside', a girl entering her 30's is more apt to judge a guy by different criteria, such as; Is he financially stable (not rich, just able to hold a job), is he a loving, caring type person, will he be around tomorrow.. next month.. next year???

The ones that require you to drive a Ferrari and take them out to expensive dinners every other night and buy them diamonds for every goddamn holiday etc. are the ones that will leave you in a NY second when the cash cow flops to the ground, writhing in pain and looking up with those sad brown eyes, wondering where the love went.

Stay away from them. Don't settle, but find someone with similar goals in life that you can be comfortable and happy coming home to.

{long post below}

You might recall I contributed to a discourse on the roots of monogamy a while ago?

http://www.totse.com/bbs/Forum4/HTML/007386.html

For those of you interested in the parallels between the animal world and the human world on this subject, it begins to make sense.

Remember the baboons? Patriarchial, polygamic, and highly competitive societies? And the fact that we resemble them more than we do Bonobos or chimpanzees?

Get this:

There are several baboon species where the troop structure is basically the same (1 dominant male, big harem of females) but a few subordinate males stick around to help with defense against outsiders, etc. In a sense, these baboons are more like us than the first example I gave.

The clever females in the troop will support the dominant male because he can effectively defend the troop and is usually, by some weird consensus of the females, passably good at looking after youngsters and gathering resources like food, etc.

These same clever females, however, who are supposed to submit themselves to the sexual whims of the dominant male will, when possible and often when they are at their most fertile, seek out a subordinate male out of sight of the dominant one and mate with him instead. The dominant male usually has no idea -- he's got so many other things on his mind and so much else to do that he doesn't find out.

Scientists have discovered that these subordinate males, although not as strong or as 'rich' as the dominant male, do possess what might be considered superior genes for intelligence, etc.

It's a decent system (for the species; not necessarily so for the dominant male who's just trying his Darwinian best to get his genes into the next generation) that allows genetically superior offspring to be born into the troop and protected by a stronger, more world-savvy protector. Best of both worlds, kinda.

Carry that parallel over to the human world and it all starts to make sense. Women seek out, at least for marriage, successful men who have plenty of resources and can effectively defend, nurture, and provide for her offspring. He might think that the kids are his as well, but only she knows for certain.

Women also seem to seek, at least for sexual encounters, men who seem to possess superior genes for intelligence, strength, coordination, dexterity, charisma, etc. It doesn't matter that they might be among the working poor -- they've got, at least in the estimation of a woman's subconscious analysis of a million minute details, the right stuff for their genes to make it into the next generation.

Of course, sex doesn't necessarily mean pregnancy nowadays like it used to before contraception.

But it does illustrate why women are so damnably selective about partnering up with a rich man but also show tendencies to have affairs with the pool boy.
