Default Is there any sanctity left in sex?

I don't think there is. People fuck like animals now a days and i think it's really disgusting. I really don't understand how you can know someone for about a day or less and then fuck them without even knowing a damn thing about that person.

What do you people think? Someone wanna give me some insight into how it's so easy for you to fuck your neighbor/friend/what have you without even knowing them?

I guess it depends on if you're looking for sex or a relationship. Sometimes, at some point in your life a quick sex fix is what you need to get by. Later, emotional ties may be more important than instant gratification. When intimacy outweighs the desire for immediate sexual outlet you don't jump so quick at the first opportunity.

Personally, if I'm not currently in a relationship, either will do just fine. If circumstances lend to either/or, I'll choose the long-term with the possibility of being in a satisfying relationship over the quick fuck everytime.

Because people are fucked up. There are things they don't want other people to know about them and thing they don't want to know about other people. A person with a shitty job and life can be a god for one night with another person. And sometimes that's all that matters.

"Now a days"? Hahahaha. People have been fucking indiscriminately since the dawn of time, er, at least the dawn of humans. It just wasn't talked about as liberally at some points in history as it is now. And at other points in history it was talked about even more.

You may choose to do as you wish. Others have the same perogative.

It's the nature of the beast.

I come from a christian background, I was taught that sex should wait for marriage. In the last 4 or 5 years I've gone my own way, but I still hold on to a semblance of my beliefs, the ones that still make sense (because I was never the type to buy anything that didn't make sense, regardles of who was teaching it).

Anyway, it fully sucks that sex has become so everyday, so commonplace. Sex is special, and I think part of the reason it is is because it is meant to be earned... you put your time and heart in and the final reward is incredible sex. That's the way it should be. It shouldn't be so damn easy to score sex, it takes away from the importance, meaning, earthshaking nature of it.

Those that only sleep with people they are in love with have better, more pleasurable sex than people who sleep with randoms... proven fact (and love doesn't happen overnight) People who settle for mediocre sex with strangers are, in my opinion, weak and low on self-control.

If sex were pizza:

Run a marathon and you win an extra large, fresh from the oven pizza with all the toppings...

OR:

Run around the block and you win a slice of cheese pizza that's been left out on the bench overnight.

Too many people are too lazy to run marathons these days. Their loss I figure.

It does seem like sex is becoming more and more valueless. I know that I personally haven't shown it the proper respect in the past, but live and learn.

There are many reasons to have at least some respect for sex. Sex can be a very dangerous activity. You can suffer heart break, STDs, and even die from sex. It is not the game that many people like to think of it as, but that's the way the world turns.

Just be aware that sex is a very powerful thing and act accordingly.

P.S. I can't wait until mrman posts.

I see it as being okay to have sex with no meaning or sex that is truly meaningful(you love the other person). Inbetween(you like the other person but not that much) is bound to screw up the relationship and keep it from becoming an actually meaningful one. Note that this is a teenagers perspective which applies primarily ot teenage relationships. I for some reason assume adults are mature enough to handle it any such way. Still though, with true meaning is when it's best but I don't think that should prevent a person from being able to just have fun sometimes.

I am pretty much in agreement with Cindy here. People have always had a lot of sex, and always will. Humans are engineered to want sex and have it a lot; biologically, all organisms are programmed to reproduce as much as possible. It's the society we live in that insists that sex is "special", and as society changes, so do our views on sex. I'm not saying that it isn't special or can't be special, but i don't think others should be judged for viewing it as casual or recreational.

I fucked my girl the day after we met, moved in a week after we met, and we have been together for almost 3 years now. Everything is just fine and dandy. Some people are just sluts though, and do it for the wrong reasons.

(Is there even a wrong reason to have sex?)

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Anywho, the most obvious historical examples of "valueless sex" seems to be the classic Greek and Roman eras, and the Arabian era that inspired the "tales from 1001 nights".

I can sorta dig what you're saying. Sex and love is more satisfying after the pursuit and all that. But the thing with that is... sex is the goal. Sex is what you're killing yourself over. Some idiots like to go along with a girl for a few months, finaly get her laid then fuck right off.

I don't think sex is the be all and end all. In fact I don't think sex is very special at all. It's just something you can do with somebody. Love and affection for a person is what really matters. That's what the pursuit is all about. If you just want sex then it's your perogative to go to a bar and meet somebody like-minded. Or a prostitute. It's not worth both parties trouble.

Sex used to be considered the physical finish line for a relationship... I'm not saying that sex should be your sole motivation for becoming committed to someone, but face it, it is a goal, for anyone. Sex is great, especially with someone who means a great deal to you. IMO a good sex life is absolutely key to a healthy relationship.

Meaningless sex... as horny as I am, I just don't see the value in it. Sex is just too damn good to be treated as a every-day recreational activity. I'd hate for sex to lose it's meaning for me.

I wouldn't call anyone on it though, because they're the ones who are losing out.

I think Sarc summed it up perfectly.

Hmmm, I find it horrible that people go around and screw whenever they feel like it because they have an "itch", they want to get rid of. People that go out and fuck at the drop of a hat, the moment the urge overtakes them, trivialising sex. I mean it's hard to suppress the desire, but it makes it have so much more meaning when you do wait for someone worth sharing yourself with.

I know from my own experience that I wouldn't give two shits about being with a girl if she had been around the block a few times. Hell, I may get to know her, enjoy her personality and love to spend time with her, but when it comes to actually being together sexually it wouldn't have the same depth for me. I'd just look at her and think "Wow... who hasn't, this will be fun, sure, but the act itself won't add much depth to the relationship".

I am pretty sure most decent guys won't respect a girl who gives it up so easily, and no girl should respect a guy who does the same... at least that's my opinion.

Sex isn't "sacred," it's body parts rubbing against one another. If you think that's sacred, your brain is too clogged with religious propaganda for you to be able to pay any attention to what's actually going on here in the real world. I feel sorry for you.

There are so many problems with that statement. First off, a lot of people are too immature and too irrisponsible to be having sex in the first place but are sleeping around like veteran sluts.

Second, if a person thinks of sex as just a quick fix, then (possibly) the largest part of sex, which is the emotional connection, is lost or at little disapated a little.

And, of course, lets not forget the STD's. I think that everyone can agree that they would rather not sleep with some dumbass that likes to go around having unprotected sex. What makes it even sadder is that the people that do that kind of stuff usually don't have the brains, or the consideration, to go get tested; and in doing so put all of their future partners at risk. IOW: GET TESTED YOU DIRTY WHORES!!!

Nice turn of phrase, and so true.

I dunno about the marathon and pizza metaphor. Sure, I can see life as a marathon. It's wrought with challenges and you have to pace yourself or you won't make it the whole way. But I see sex more as the refreshing sips of water you need along the way. Pizza is heavy and junky, and it's the last thing I'd want after running for 26 miles.

I do understand what Sarc's getting at, though.

why? and just to clarify, i dont "give it up". thats a senseless, possessive term and i dont live that way. im happy having had sex. id much rather have the sex ive had in my life than be a virgin. i enjoy sex and i dont care who knows it. i dont need to have my ass kissed to have sex. i dont need for a person to jump through a hoop or make believe feelings that arent there.

i know logic is hard for you to grasp, but thats logic my dear. if something is extrodinary only after waiting an irrationally long time, it then must require this waiting period to be good. after all, why is pizza after a marathon wonderful the first time, but then after the first time its just as great every time you get delivery? why? because you are female and that sort of thinking directly benefits you. bitches want to make a guy do all kinds of work in order to get pussy. its the only thing these women have going for them and thus the only leverage to force a man to prove himself to be easily controlled by said pussy. sorry, i dont do that. i dont kiss ass to get pussy. i dont lower myself to the point of jumping through hoops for pussy. i certainly dont ignore my standards and spend time with a female i dont want to spend time with just to get pussy.

You're the fuckin' moron. Chicks don't have to work for sex... And if you really think you do, you can just keep telling yourself that. All in all, when the day is done, it's the chick that has the pussy and has the final word.

The only chicks that even remotely have to "work" for sex are fat and or ugly ones, and even then, they still have the upper hand.

You can keep spewing this self-righteous bullshit about the "scaredness" of sex... But my guess is that you're trying to cover up the fact that you're a prude, and probably a bad fuck aswell.

What a torrent of meaningless cuss words. I suspect you have issues with women and getting them to fuck you.

You think women don't work for sex? If nothing else, we have to work a hell of a lot harder to make ourselves presentable so that the men we want will consider us "fuckable". This isn't just in reference to appearance, though that is a large part of it.

Sure, we have the pussy, and the final say, because we have choices. If we turn you down, it's often because someone else had more to offer. Why would we fuck an unmotivated dipshit when we can fuck someone clever and witty who has goals in life? Even if we're just looking for a straight-up, no-strings fuck, most enlightened females who know what they're worth would still choose someone who's not an asshole over someone who is.

Sex isn't that special.

If you don't believe me. Explain exactly why it is soo sacred and special?

Most likely you will say it's sacred because it brings a couple closer blah blah blah.

But if that's the only reason why sex is soo special. Then a couple could bring themselves closer as partners a different way, such as doing something special for eachother.

Then we wouldn't have to give a shit about the sanctity of sex, it could be just a instinct driven action.

And that's all it is.

But I also realize, that when people start viewing sex as not sacred so on. Then more people do it carelessly, and you get STD's.

And the solution to that...protection and education.

So stop thinking sex is soo special. It isn't.

Cindy, don't complain that you girls have to make yourselves presentable.

Sure, society today is very jugdmental on looks and all. But you are no better than them when you give in and do all that stuff to be presentable.

Women should stop giving in, and worrying so much about their looks. If you guys just made sure you were clean, then us guys would have no choice but to give in.

So don't even mention it, because if it was so bad you would do something about it.

Default Re: Is there any sanctity left in sex?

My god... you guys have confused what I've said so much so that I don't even know where to begin to unravel this mess...

Ok... so, I'll start off by saying that in my mind there is a world of difference between how things ARE and how things should be. I see no point in explaining how the world works, you can all observe that for yourselves. I'm just offering up my ideals and opinions for the sake of discussion.

I won't argue that women have the upper-hand when it comes to sex. They are the keepers of the pussy, but why the hell is it this way? The penis is just as essential when it comes to intercourse... why have men allowed themselves to become so completely whipped? As if they're not just as important in the whole equation?! As if healthy women's sexual appetites aren't just as strong?

Prior to the 1950's and the blasted femenist revolution the only real value women had were as wives. If a man didn't fancy you enough to slap a ring on your finger then your net worth dropped right off. "Spinster" has a much more negative connotation than "Bachelor" now doesn't it?

But as is the case with many injustices, the pendulum swung to the opposite extreme, men are now treated as doormats and women hold the reigns of power.

I subscribe to a happy-medium way of thinking, not a lot of women do. A lot of women think 'why treat your man with love and respect when it is socially acceptable to treat him like shit.' Yeah well, that's on their consceince, not mine. It's absolute bullshit though, and I partly blame guys for letting it happen. God, stand up for yourselves. You're right, you shouldn't have to bend and scrape for pussy... but you should have to put your time in, as should any woman.

I treat the men I'm involved with as I expect to be treated. That means no game playing, no indentured servitude, no using sex as a bartering chip... none of that. You don't have to buy that because it's just my word, no one here can back that up, but believe for a moment that it's true. That it is possible for a woman to be fair and to recognize a certain equality between sexes when it comes to relationships. It would turn the world on it's head if this way of thinking became popular, maybe that would be a good thing, don't you think?

So, since you've completely misinterpreted what I meant by "sex should be earned" I'll explain it again. If you commit to only sleeping with people that you have shared an investment of time and emotion with, the sex will be better. Don't waste your time arguing with that. Sex that means something, sex with someone who loves you, sex that symbolizes a unity between you and your lover... there's no greater physical pleasure. I'm not saying anything about sex being 'sacred'... it is just a physical act and I see no religious connection... other than perhaps the odd orgasm that sends you straight through the gates of heaven. But it is THE physical act, the pinnacle of intimacy... it is fucking goooooood, and everyone, male and female, should show it a bit more respect.

I don't say that out of prudish naivety either, I've been with random guys, it may be physically fulfilling at the time of orgasm, but you wake up the next day going "bleh, was it worth it? No, it really wasn't." I would've had just as much fun masturbating, and I wouldn't have had to deal with 'Slut's Remorse'. And if you never experience such a thing as 'Slut's Remorse' then you're probably just desensitized and need a good HIV or Hepatatis scare to knock the sense back into your careless mind.

The only way that I can see any of you being able to argue with what I have said is if you have never experienced sex with a soulmate, in which case it just sucks to be you.

Sex is sanctified by religion and society in order to preserve some 'mystery' or 'meaning' in our existence. It's body parts rubbing together, there's nothing spiritual about it, we make it special to help us cope with our aimless lives.

That's just my cynical theory, think what you want

lots of things feel good. i dont exactly see the need to hold opiates sacred or show them respect.

it may be physically fulfilling at the time of orgasm, but you wake up the next day going "bleh, was it worth it? No, it really wasn't." I would've had just as much fun masturbating, and I wouldn't have had to deal with 'Slut's Remorse'.

sorry, no, i grew the fuck up. i dont have remorse for performing a natural human act. just like i dont feel remorse for taking a shit or breathing or anything else. its not on par with masturbation. ive had way more laughs with sex than with masturbation.

quote:Originally posted by Sarcophagus:

And if you never experience such a thing as 'Slut's Remorse' then you're probably just desensitized and need a good HIV or Hepatatis scare to knock the sense back into your careless mind.

sorry, that scare tactic bullshit doesnt work either. id rather live my life and die at 30 than never live at all and last until 80. my goal in life is to enjoy it, not to out last the other miserable sons of bitches who never did shit because they were too scared.

The only way that I can see any of you being able to argue with what I have said is if you have never experienced sex with a soulmate, in which case it just sucks to be you.

abd if i listened to your dumbass for even a minute, id have killed myself long ago. life sucks when you suck, i chose not to. only a retard or a feminized foofball would actually think that you cant have sex unless its "soulmate" sex. as if this is some sort of grade school sex cafeteria that only allows you to have one or the other. luckily thats not how life is, you can fuck your way into mrs right and not have to be a miserable shit to get there.

Geezus you're a thick motherfucker.

Who set a 6 month time limit? You did.

There's a difference between sleeping with your girlfriend a few days into the relationship and sleeping with a new girl (Oh whats'er'name, you can't remember! You don't even care!) every night of the week.

If I were as dense as you I would've killed myself years ago.

PS. If you're actually comparing sex to opiates then it's safe to say you've never had really good sex.

No you wouldn't. You'd have had to realize you were that dense. How likely is that?

Anyways.. I really wanted to add something to this, but after wading through 30+ posts, it's become exceedingly clear that this is one topic which does not lend itself well to objective viewpoints. Personal experience is more than a guide here; for each of us, it creates the best path for us to travel, until we begin to feel something needs to change.

Consider the various groups we can vaguely define. On one side, you have those who have not had sexual experience with many partners, and in nearly all cases their first encounters were within the confines of either a caring, stable relationship or a new relationship which would become that way in time. The opinion you would get from these people is that sex with a loved partner is infinitely better than it is with a random shag, to the point where one-night stands and fuck buddies aren't even worth having.

On the other side, you have those people who have been with a good many different people, and have experienced a good many different things. Generally, they've done more in quantity than the people in the first group. Some of those in this group believe there is nothing special about sex and that, if they get into a relationship, sex will not be a factor because it will be just as good as it is with anyone else. Others have come to see sex in a caring relationship as a more enjoyable act, but understand the motivations and positives behind random fucking.

Different parts of society hold different views on this. Whichever one gets its hands on you first and clicks in your head is the one you're going to follow, be it waiting or fucking like a bunny with whoever you want. Afterwards, with sex being a pretty goddamn fun thing in any case if you do it right, you're probably going to see the path you tread as a damn fine way to go.

The exceptions? If things go poorly, people will very often swing the other way, to an extreme at times, simply as a reaction. The virgin who is shafted by her carefully chosen first lover may easily become a raving sex fiend, because her ideal situation fell apart. Likewise, some guy who finds that sex with random girls is or has become trite and boring may savor the idea of a strong relationship. Such is the power of sex on humanity, that it can cause such a dramatic swing in someone's behavior based on as little as one bad experience.

Those of you who are well-versed in sex have your own ways and methods which work for you. That's fine, for you. If it comes to expounding the virtues of a certain style to those yet to learn for themselves, I would lean strongly towards waiting, as random fucking can always be had down the road for those who would have the opportunity to choose. But it's such a personal thing that to suggest someone else is doing it wrong, regardless of what they're doing, is nigh absurd. It's not just what they enjoy, it's what they've learned to enjoy, and the impact of that cannot be overstated.

you really are dumb. jesus...

i picked an arbitrary number. 6 months, just out of thin air. the number doesnt matter, its the absurdity of having a waiting period in the first place.

theres no difference between fucking a "girlfriend" after 3 days or another girl after 3 days. actually there is. if you are committing to a girl after knowing her three days, youre an idiot.

also, like i keep saying, im a guy. i know you arent really that smart, but guess what? orgasms are nice but they dont fuck me up near as much as almost any drug. i could talk to my own mother during an orgasm and she would never know.

heres my veiw on things: sex is meaningless, as with every other thing on the planet.

women like to make a big deal out of sex, because they think they are princesses. they like to see men work.

i love these girls telling mrman, that if he thinks opiates are better than sex, he hasnt had good sex. this is very presumptious of you. you dont know him, or me. and i agree with him on this.

let me tell you why: because im past the stage of humoring some chick just to fuck her. i can think of nothing more BORING than sitting there listening to her ramble on drunkenly about shit i dont care about. and if you want some, you have to fake interest. you have to throw shit back at her. its just too much effort. id rather cash a 12 pack, smoke a bone, eat some valiums...its just so much easier. and the euphoria is longer and most of the time, better as well.

in short, talking pleasently with some chick to get laid isnt worth it IMO. id rather do one [or 2] of the drugs above and settle in with a good video game.

and lets be honest, most of the time, sport fucking is just for ego. ive decided that, if i want an ego boost, ill go get into a fist fight. as a matter of fact, im training as we speak to get back into tourament fighting. the feeling is much more complex, and better. it feeds the primal urges in me [domination, violence, pain etc] and its far more honest.

and unlike women, you get what you put in. and it isnt all one way.

as far as cindys assertion that looking good is there burden: to guys, us looking good is just the start. we have to put it out on the line, we have to initiate. so saying that looking good is the end all really kinda clues me in to how clueless you are to the male burden. im not being hatefull here, im just saying what guys thing about this.

but sriously, as with anything in this world, the male/female dynamic isnt even close to fair. women wont admit it, for the very reason men know it: they havent been humbled as many times as we have. they havent had dirt kicked in there faces nearly as often as we have.

argueing with them, trying to convince them or trying to get them to see it the way we live it is futile. they arent interested, they have no reason to be. they are, for the most part, on top of the heap. they have no reason to empathize or care, the world is theres.

so, let them do there things. and find things outside of them to make you happy. dont be like the %63 of married men in this country and find that out in divorce court.

things arent perfect or fair. there is nothing sacred. nothing special. there are no soulmates. and there is nothing, that is forever. stop trying to find something in other ppl. stop believing the bullshit. stop frustrating yourself with women.

life is too short to go around getting complexes. or getting laid low and damaging you self esteem chasing some girl. focus on having FUN, and fuck everything and everyone else.

well, all i can say is different strokes for different folks.

I know many people (some who i have been involved with) that see sex as recreation and a good night in (or out). They are loving caring people who 'play' with others. Some are single others are in open or polyamorous relationships. Sex has value here, but not the same as the 'sacredness' that some place on it.

i have also seen families that teach sex as sacred, then wonder why their little princess got knocked up. Its about education here methinks.

for me, i see it as something i would do with people i loved/trusted, nothing that means long term committment, just the committment to have fun now. Its all works out better if you talk about your expectations BEFORE the event.
