Long term damage of bad expiriences.
I've known and helped a few very close friends, who have been raped or abused and I was wondering on a more general (just the majority, this is only one thread) basis what the long term effects are on future relationships. Any insight or expirience from people who havee known people or been people in these situations about how it may effect all relationships and in what ways. (I'm also referring to relationshiiips with family or friends, these are often overlooked.)
Thankyou

Re: Long term damage of bad expiriences.
I've had a life full of shit...But this ain't no sob story.
Basically I have been treated like shit by chicks since I started dating (When I was 13).
Nowadays I don't trust a single one of them...After a period of about 2 months of being coupled with them, I get paranoid about them and guys...I do stupid things to the guys saying things about them, etc.
So the birds who treated me like shit in the early years have paved the way for the way I am now.
That's the way I see it anyways!

Re: Long term damage of bad expiriences.
it really comes down to the abused.its for them to decide if they are gonna let the shit that happened fuck up their relationships from then on.although this only applies to those abused/raped as adults, abused kids have less in the way of choices.
ps. i have had shed loads of experience with this..

Re: Long term damage of bad expiriences.
I suppose in a general sense, abuse and dysfunction hamper one's self-realization. It's difficult to successfully deal with day-to-day growing and living when one deals with dysfunction and it's aftermath.
And then when a person exorcises personal demons, they may find they don't "fit in" with others in their peer groups anymore. Others have grown, moved ahead, evolved and achieved. The person who has dealt with dysfunction has just managed to begin living.
So abuse can affect someone for awhile; it depends on how aggressively s/he can "process" and deal with the head trips. Some people manage to be fine after a few years; some are never fine.
