Default I probably won't see her for several years.

Well I just took my ASVAB test. I forgot what it stands for. It was for the Air Force I am leaving for basic as soon as I turn 18, I'm graduating early though so I guess I have sometime before I turn 18.

Well my best friend, once girlfriend, I hope her to be again sometime. Lives on the other side of the country. She's not coming here this summer to visit. I will be too busy this summer to visit her, and I'm not to sure on the relationship her parents and I have. We were once close but then something happened and I dunno it went to shit I guess. They secretly blame me for their daughters depression, she says they don't but I know they do, and how they sound when I call to talk to her.

What the hell should I do, I leave for basic next March. I don't know if I'll be graduating next Jan, or Mar. Which sucks and she is my best friend and I don't want to go 3 or 4 years without seeing her again. I just need some advice on what I should do. I was originally going to post this in spurious but the people there tend to not give a shit, and this seems to do with the more "affection" part of the forum. So advice please?

Drop the I want her to be my girl again prospects for now, and just keep her as a friend. You probably aren't going to get a chance to see her, and I, nor anyone else here, can help you with that particular piece of the problem. That doesn't mean that you will be stranded far away on some desert island where communication is closed. Keep in touch, be a friend, and then when you get the chance to see her again, go for it.

Trust me here, it will be much easier to keep her as a friend than as a prospective girlfriend. If yall two are meant to be together, it will work out when you see her next.

It's not that bad man.. just keep in touch with her, airforce basic is really short, then after that you go to your tech school or whatever it is you do, then you get stationed somewhere and it's just like any other job, unless you get sent overseas. I mean you get all the time you need to talk on the phone, you get a few weeks of leave each year, steady income with about no liveing expenses exept the ones you choose to have: car payment, cell phone bill, ect.. When you get your leave youll have plenty of money to go see anyone you want to go see.. if you want to see her, it wouldnt be a problem.

Also, for about the first year or so your in you will always have something new and interseting to talk to her about on the phone, not so much because of the airforce itself, but because everything is so diffrent than anything youve done before and the people you meet are so diffrent and fun.. youll have alot of intresting storys to talk about.

Armed Sevices Vocational Apptitude Battery

Chicks dig guys in military uniforms. Keep in touch with her through letters (you get no leave during Basic. Besides its short).

I agree with disposing of intimate sugestions for the meanwhile. This could work to your advantage. In the letters make sure you subtley emphasise how much you miss her, how hard training is (AF training is the easiest among the services. don't let her know that.) If you get a chance call her, mention you're only allowed to call one person blah blah.

Good luck man (in both your friend and the AF)

To "SARDONICPILLOW": STFU you have no idea what you're talking about.

Hey, maybe you will get lucky and get stationed near her after basic, which is only like 9 weeks long.
