Why does it work like this?
I've been kind of dating this girl for a while now. It started in January, and then after a couple times she said she didn't think we should go out like that anymore because one her friends liked me and she didn't want to cause their friendship to end. So we didn't hang out for a while, but then she started calling me again and we started going out, or hanging out, or dating, or whatever the fuck it is again. Friday we watched Pulp Fiction at her house, and for the first time we held hands. She seemed to be into it herself, in that it was basically me just grabbing her hand. But then Saturday we hung out again and I was trying to sort of get her to hold my hand again but she wasn't really cooperating, so I just had my hand on her leg. I don't understand, if I got to hold her hand one night, how come the next night was a step back of sorts.

Hmm...
It sounds like either her friend still has the hots for you, or her hots for you have cooled. Why not ask her if she wants to date, and see what she says?

Re: Why does it work like this?
Yep...I've had chicks like that...One night you are prince charming the next, you are worth about as much as a mangy dog!
Normally...And I stress the word "normally", it's because you're plan B.
She likes someone else but he doesn't like her or he has something else to do...Or her friends are all busy with their little lives.
So her night is fucked so what does she do?.
Why she goes for the sad little guy who she knows will always be there when she's bored.
She'll also show some small emotions, e.g. holding hands, to keep you interested.
My advice is knock her back every so often...Tell her you're busy or something...She'll find it weird and intriguing that you have something more important than her and she will most likely want you more!
Good luck sonny!

everything up until here was truthful and if not correct, atleast logical. but the above paragraph is complete bullshit. she isnt going to "want him more" or find his other plans "weird and intriguing", shes going to move right along without him. once a girl disrespects you by treating you like a little bitch, its over. to her you are a pussy thats barely worth holding her hand. why the fuck would you even waste your time thinking about her?

MrMan, that's bullshit, you can put your foot down at any point, though usually the sooner the better.

Re: Why does it work like this?
I'm really not sure if the "friend liking me" thing is an issue anymore. That was a long time ago when she said that. In addition, I know two of her best friends, and I thought it was probably one of them, but recently they have both told me that I should ask her out. I'm really just trying to figure out how her mind works a little better.

Re: Why does it work like this?
Just tell her how you feel, then make a move. Honesty is[i] the best policy. Besides, worst she can do is turn you down. Just go with the flow. Girls are confusing, and often anyone needs help understanding them, but I often give the same advice over. 1) Go with the flow. and 2) Tell them how you feel. Easy as that.

Re: Why does it work like this?
I appreciate everyone's advice. I asked her to prom today, and she said she'd go with me, so if nothing else, at least I have that to look forward to.
