Default Getting an art-fag social snob to consider other possibilities than hating me.

i've had a slight crush on my friend's sister for a little while now. there are a few problems:

1. she and her bro fight all the time so she automatically doesn't like me because i'm his friend.

2. she prefers the smallish, more limp wristed guys as opposed to the bigger, more clean cut athletic types. (i am the latter)

3. i once threatened to burn down her best friend's house.

4. she's a yankee snob who doesn't understand my laid-back ways, ergo does not approve of them.

5. we're both intellectual elitists

6. she doesn't like smokers or drinkers.

now, how can i get a second chance as it were. all i want at this point is to get her to go on a date with me. i think i can handle it from there. but the odds seem insurmountable, how can i handle this without looking like a stalker?

1. Talk to her and make her laugh.

2. Provide all the characteristics she wants in a guy. She likes limp wristed guys instead of athletic guys?? Thats a first, but I guess it comes down to her liking being the dominant one in the relationship. And you said you're both intellectual elitists? So use some wit in your conversation and don't fly off the handle and threaten to burn down her friends house again, haha.

3. Tell her you're going to the movies, a party, or wherever you want to go, and that she should join you.

On a side note: chicks like this usually give you heaps of 'tests'. For example they'll snob you and shit to see what you'll do. Just ignore it and put your foot down if she's being unreasonable. Don't take her shit, but don't be a moron about stuff. Act like nothing bothers you, you're indifferent to the tests she puts up. Then when she EARNS your attention, open up a bit more and let her know you're enjoying her company.

Something you should no about women: They're more attracted to the types they don't prefer than those they do. That sounds contradictory, but so does everything else about women. This is the only generalization I've yet to see an exception to: women are self-loathing. If a limp-wristed bitch is what they prefer, then what they truly want deep down is something that would dominate them. There's a good chance she likes you but will never admit it because it goes against her 'sense of culture' or whatever elitists call their fucked up perspective on humanity.

these seem like pretty good ideas. my only concern with being more dominant and/or forceful is i'm afraid of coming off as a tom buchanan type character. what about sort of trapping her? forcing her to spend time with me like having her brother set it up so that we have to run errands together all day or something like that?

You don't have to be dominant, per se, just not afraid of her. What will catch her attention in that respect is hard to say- doing something "dominating" may do the trick, but you can't go forceful and back off too well. Better to start a little more low-key.

For example, you say she's an intellectual elitist. How well do you know her? Do you know of anything you and her both have some knowledge about that you can slip into a conversation? If she's the type of person to not want some guy she dislikes to get the best of her, being able to stand up to her mind-to-mind may well garner at least some grudging respect, which is a good first step.

Going strictly by your description of the situation, it sounds very possible she could fall for you. Many times, especially with younger folks, a person will develop a noticeable dislike for somebody because they don't fit their preferred type, yet there's a slight sense of attraction and they can't get a grip on why they feel that way.

Of course, she could just irreconcilably hate you. I don't know.

ookay.. well.. most of these you can answer for yourself anyways.. anything about you she doesn't like, change it. Win her over if she hates you because she hates your bother, don't smoke and don't drink alot cause she hates that. Acctually I'm not going to bother answering the other numbered off items here.. If you're the "intellectual elitist" you say you are, then you'll be smart enough to realize that the only way this snob will go out with you is if you start changing yourself.. drastically by the sounds of it. My suggestion.. go for someone else. Plus you could quite possibly lose your friendship with her brother. L8r
