What happened?!
Oh my God, what have they done to my friend. This is a girl I met a few months back, she was pretty cool. And I hadn't talked to her in about 1 month or so, and was surprised to her saying the things she was. Below is the conversation:
ME: The latest findings from the Hamburg Medical Research Institute in Germany claim that regular sexual intercourse increases your intelligence.
Additionally the injection of endorphins and serotonin that you receive once you orgasm increases self confidence, giving your mind and body a physical workout.
HER: i don't care what you say, im gonna listen to my preacher and do what i think is right, if you don't fine, just don't try to convince me to think its ok
ME: LoL, what?
ME: I just found that right now
ME: And thought it was cool
ME: So I sent it to all the people on my buddy list
HER: well thats great, but i don't think its cool
ME: Oh ok, that's fine
HER: ok
ME: Well now I'm curious, what exactly has your preacher told you?
HER: that sex is meant for married cupples and that sex may be good right now out of marriage, but later your just gonna regreat it and that you'll have great sex when you married b/c you feel no regreats
ME: I see
HER: yup, and i agree
ME: I'm curious though, why would you regret it?
HER: b/c every time your w/ some1 your taking that person you had sex w/ to your honey moon and the memories are always gonna be there, your gonna want to just think about your wife/husbad and you won't, the "sex ghosts" will come during your time alone with your wife/husband
HER: and how would you like it if you and your wife were making love and she was thinking of the time with that other guy
ME: Hmm...I suppose that's one way to think of it, but how would you explain the countless people who have had sex before marriage and don't regret it?
HER: you can not not say that you regreat it
ME: But you have to admit, there are some people, if not many who don't
HER: i don't think so, once they find out how great sex really is being married, they're gonna wish they waited
HER: trust me
ME:But they're already married couples who haven't regreted it
ME: And that's why people cheat on eachother because sex isn't that great after marriage
HER: tell me one person you know that is married and has had sex b4 marriage and don't regret it
HER: no, they cheat on eachother b/c of temptation
ME: Temptation, because they are getting bored of their partner
ME: I can tell you many people
HER: no, there is temptation everywhere, you know, im happy w/ my life now and i don't want things to change, but temptation comes to call my ex bfs, or to do something i wouldn't normally do
ME: Oh well, I'm just stating what has been apparent in scientific studies in marriages and the like
HER: but its not cause im bored, its b/c tehre is temptation everywhere, and thats ok, but as long as you dont' fall for it, then that is a sin
HER: well i guess, believe what you want to beleive

Re: What happened?!
This is just honest advice; I'm not trying to be an asshole.
She's probably blowing you off because you talk like a stuck-up formal pseudo-suave science type who, though having a different intention, sounds like he's just trying to use sexual scientific facts as ham-handed pick-up lines. Loosen up, have a little more fun..and stop quoting institute studies like that; since when has factualness ever mattered to women?
Otherwise, good luck.
And she seems normal, if indoctrinated and immature, to me. How old is she?

Re: What happened?!
Heh, it's not that mate. I've hung out with her on many occasions and we were pretty close. I wasn't at all trying to pick her up, and many people who also saw that little article just laughed and thought it was cool. I didn't she would be any different.
She's 16
And yes I am a suave science type
lol.

Re: What happened?!
she sounds like she's really rooted in her religious beliefs ... it's very VERY hard to argue/talk her out of what she believes in if she's so religious ... guess main thing is to respect her beliefs and for her to respect yours but not try to change the other's point of view, but also not to dismiss it entirely, which she basically did saying that all married couples who had sex before marriage regreted it, that's plain ignorance right there.

Re: What happened?!

Heh, 'tis ok Infared, I still love you.
That's why the topic is "What happened?!" Angel, because it's only been a month or so since I've spoken to her, and she's made a huge turnaround. Damn church!

Re: What happened?!
It's that damned religion, it causes people to completely ignore facts and logic. That's why they call it blind faith, you ignore the things that contradict each other.
