What's your problem with it? I'm normally first in line to rip on the anal-retentive, anti-porn mongers of the world, but if you delve into the site a bit, you might notice that's not their goal. In fact, a porn director is part of the creative team behind the site (along with two young Christian ministers).

The main point behind Pete the Porno Puppet is to get parents to keep porn out of the hands of their kids, which is a laudable effort. They should be doing that anyway- sex should be an open topic, but that doesn't mean any good comes of eight-year-old Billy finding Dad's 10 gig porn stash because he knows how to work the computer better than the rest of the family combined.

Just because Christians are involved doesn't make something automatically bad.

In some respects, I agree that Pete the Porno Puppet is a great thing. Little kids shouldnt be looking at mommy and daddy's porn collection. Parents should be doing this anyways.

But, in some ways, porn is saving the sexuality of future generations. Look how many kids no longer get the sex talk, and high schools have begun teaching less and less about safe sex in order to make room for the impossible "abstainance for all" goal. The only way these kids learn anything about sex in general is through porn. Until parents become responsible and take care of their kids, totally banning pornography is a bad idea. If we can't do that, we need to learn the difference between total facist censorship and helping out the kids.

And spiffy, you are a god...in a sea of dumb folk, spiffy points out that not all church is bad! Some people do have good intentions.

Talk to some high school kids and then see what porn taught them about sex. The kids who came into the high school a year or two after i left are sex-crazed. Im 16, been sexually active since i was 13. Any form of total censorship is a bad thing, people have the right to decide what is best for them and their children. I do definately agree that many people kids in school are extremely "sex-crazed," but i seriously doubt that its from parents not giving their kid "the talk." I think the reason the talk has become useless is because the parent(s) giving it doesnt have half the information and/or experience of most of the kids. I also think the whole absenise(sp?) thing is a joke. My first year of high school they gave the safe sex lesson plan,last two years they bought in a "christian" group who couldnt mention anything religious cause they work off fedral grants. I left school early both those weeks, because the class was a complete joke. They use STDs to try to scare kids into being chaste, and they use faulty information as well. If people want the whole "sex problem" to be solved, do some research and talk to your kids. And dont try to drive the whole chaste til marriage deal down their throat, it doesnt work.

btw the first sentence of this will likely make atleast one person dismiss this. But i was in that relationship for two years, the girl was about a year, maybe two older then me. I dont personally think that much matters, and i was fully informed of all the "dangers" of sex and i acted very responsibly about it, we went and got tested together...kind of pointless for me, and we warped up.

I agree that pushing abstinance is not really working on kids. I'm abstining by choice, not because school ever told me to. And I'm 20 with a girlfriend of 4 years.

I don't think everyone should feel they have to wait until they are married, but it's a choice NO ONE will regret. If you're even considering having sex when you're 11, I got nothing for you.

It wasnt serious was i was 11, it got serious when i was around 13, she was 15 by then.

Anyways i agree that waiting has its benefits, but its all a matter of how you treat relationships. If you re in a serious relationship, i say do what feels right. Thats just my take though.

I am not saying that porn is a substitute for the sex talk (it's becoming one though). I am just saying that most parents ARE lazy, and their kids arent getting the sex talk. If they dont accidentally bump into porn, these kids are clueless. Even most kids who do get the sex talk don't have a clue about sex. They just understand this goes here, and there you go.

Do you remember being a kid? Remember your first time. If the ONLY thing you new was well my penis goes up your cooch, then you had a ton of trouble. How about oral sex? No one has a clue. Parents are too embarassed and teachers are too scared to actually teach SEX ED. They will tell you about STDs, how abstaining is the best thing to do, and that is it.

Porn only teaches the lest important part of sex: the mechanics of it. Unless you want to learn how to jizz all over a girls face or fake an orgasm, then you really wont get much out of porn except maybe sexual gratification.

I think that the way most kids these days are learning about sex is through experience, which is a bad thing. They only get hurt and hurt other and put themselves (and others) at risk. We need some actual realistic education, for kids and parents.
