Re: Brain Problems in Gf
Try talking to her about your worries? Just an idea, but it might just help...

Re: Brain Problems in Gf
Thought about talking to her about it?
She sounds like she needs some real help. After you talk to her, you might want to recommend that she see someone.
I wouldn't get to close to the girl either...in the end, things wont turn out well.

Take her to a shrink? Considering that she appears insane whilst also being OBLIVIOUS to it is not a good thing.

Re: Brain Problems in Gf
Could be clinical depression, could be drug addiction, could be problems at home, could be anything.
If you must talk to her about it, just make non-judgemental statements of observation. Don't ask questions; she'll feel interrogated and will go into defensive/denial mode. If she feels like telling wha's up, she will.
The best thing is to wait it out and see what happens over about 2 weeks. But heed a&b's advice about not getting too close.

Re: Brain Problems in Gf
You've got to be carefull with this situation.
Take it too lightly she'll think you're making a joke of it, take it too seriously she'll think you are being interfearing and annoying.
Make it known that you're there if she needs to talk.
Other than that, leave it.

Re: Brain Problems in Gf
If she is oblivious to it, then you need to make her aware of it. Tell her that this IS what she is doing and tell her your concerns about it. I would not get to close to her either.

I agree you should do what you can, talk to her, but be fully aware there may not be anything you can do. It's possible she'll need to hit the floor before she realizes something's fucked up.

Give her a soft but firm kick in the face and tell her that if she doesn't get her act together you'll tell everyone that (insert embarrising secret here)

Your girlfriend kicks ass. If she killed you and stole your identity, that would be icing on the cake.

Re: Brain Problems in Gf
Be very careful here;
Does she seem afraid of sleeping, is it the caffein/drugs that stop her sleeping, or is she just indifferent/unaware that sleeping is somewhat important? [Yes, I'm serious, I met a few skitzos who where indifferent to sleeping, they had no interest at all in it; I'm afraid of sleeping]
Oblivious in what way? As in, having no reaction to a serious situation? Reacting with indifference? Or the obvious type of oblivious; Walking through roads, etc?
Does she do drugs?
If you tell her straight out she needs help, she might appretiate it and take it as caring sentiments, or she might just become pissed off at the fact you think she's insane.
How serious are you two? Have she recieved any prior mental help? How old are you both?
Tough situation. Have her parents noticed anything? At worst, they can force her to get help, which, you can't.
Sorry mate, my fiance had to do this with me, but I'd been under psychiatric watch beforehand so at least I knew he wasn't just trying to piss me off or thinks I'm nuts.
