I can't believe this...

I've been really sick with the flu for a month, and just as I was getting better I just happened to kiss this friend of mine. He'd been spending a lot of time over at my place, taking care of me while I was sick and it just happened one night.

I'd never, actually, hook up with him because I know he's a horrible player, and besides hates to wear a condom.

Anyways, about two weeks ago he had hooked up with this one broad and for some reason, when he told me about her I just got the feeling she was no good.

Sure enough, she gave him mono and he gave it to me.

Now I'm going to be sick for another month!

That's two months I've been sick! I can't afford to get sick again! I need to go back to work! And I've already had to cancel one mini-tour...

Can anyone give me any information or testimonials about mono? Does it really last a whole month? I've kissed two other people since then. Is it possible I gave it to them? Is it worth telling them, or do you think I could get away with not telling them. May be they didn't get it, or may be they'll think they got it from someone else.

Help me out.

D'oh! I've had a few friends get hit pretty hard with mono. Best thing you can do to get over it is be as lazy as possible. Just don't do anything, lay around all day long, no matter how unbearably boring it gets. The more you rest the sooner it will pass, but if you don't rest you can get seriously sick sick sick.

I had mono in the fourth grade.

It really sucked.

I had mono and it sucked. It hurts and if you're as lucky as I was you won't be able to eat for a week. There is a good chance you spread it to your friends. It only lasted about three weeks for me. They put me on some weird steroids to help, but they didn't. Also no physical activity for six weeks, your spleen is fucked up and could rupture. Good luck with it, gets lots of sleep and a throat spray or something is reccomended because its gunna hurt like hell.

I mentioned before that I was recently really sick for about a month, and I couldn't understand why. I went to the doctor, even, to get checked for STD's - just because I'm kind of seeing someone right now - and she said I was clean, but I don't think she checked me for mono because she didn't swab my throat and she didn't take blood. So, I think may be that was the mono and she just didn't catch it, thinking it was just a common cold.

Which means I've probably given it to all kinds of people! At least half a dozen. And that's just people I've kissed in the last month and a half...

Because now that I know, I do have a cough still, but, I'm not nearly as sick as I was and I'm not nearly as sick as mono is being discribed to me as.

Mono is a virus, the best advice I can give is to take it easy and treat the individual symptoms (as well as taking lots of fluids).
