Just before she starts her period. Basically that is when the egg has stopped being fertile, and the sperm can't survive until another one is ready...as far as I know

No, the worst time would be around the point between periods. If you do it right after, it's possible but not likely that your sperm will live til the next egg's released, 1/2 way between. It's not a sure thing...
