Despite the adolescent thread title and approach to the subject, there's actually an inkling of truth to it. I believe this is also a practice in Afghanistan. I remember reading an article several years ago (before the country was the pariah du jour) about an Afghani couple in the USA who were charged with sexual abuse but the charges were dropped when it was learned it was a cultural practice.

Not that I'm advocating this, but I imagine that the parents probably stop doing this when the child is old enough to remember it or be concious of what's going on.
