A Totse Wedding....
Some of you may remember a girl on Totse named Berrith (Angela in RL) whom I made a thread about a long while ago called 'I love a younger girl, is this really so wrong?'. It was pretty obvious there was a deep love between the two of us. Now I'd like to announce something to all of you. If you care to listen, fine, if you don't, at least don't be an ass to us.
Me and Angela have decided to get married.
Yes, I know there is an age gap (16 and 21) between us. What we want to do is, wait until shes at least 18, then she wants to move down here with me and we can spend time building the relationship and when the time is right, get married.
People will likely read this and say 'Internet relationships don't work out'. True, a lot of times they don't. But sometimes they do, and we are determined to make this one work.
And before anyone asks, we don't know where the weddings going to be, but when its decided, anyone from Totse close enough is welcome to come. Its fine by me if its fine by her.
This is perhaps the one thing thats ever happened to me that truely makes me happy. She is so special and talented, and I feel very lucky that she would desire to live life with me. I swear by everything I hold dear I will never give her a reason to regret it, and all of Totse can hold me to this.

Re: A Totse Wedding....
Internet relationship? Shit, man, it ceases to be such when you guys meet in person. I met one girl from online when I was freshly 18; it sure is a hell of an experience, ain't it? Problem was, I had to meet her (Italian, scrutinous..if that's a word; fuck me, I can't be assed to make sure right now) parents at the same time; that was, well, tense. They were nice, but something about a huge Italian father who would look right at home over my grave was a bit intimidating. Why? Because I indeed had some dirty intentions towards his daughter; but not only.
Sorry, I talk too fucking much; it's the crystal. No, I'm not saying that to be cool or something, so save it. It's just an explanation.
Anyway, congratulations to you, my long-haired, vampiric friend ( ), and I hope for all the best for you both. Hell, I hope everyone finds love, instead of having to go through all the shit and heartbreak out there too. I envy you, man.
Congratulations!

^Shut up, dude; quit being a cynical bastard and just be happy for the guy.
I can see why you might have said that (either you think it's a stupid arrangement, or you're a bitter asshole who's been burned bad before; not flaming you by that, because lord knows I'm the same), but you gotta be a little more altruistic: Instead of cursing other people for finding love where you couldn't, you should be happy that someone who really doesn't deserve it doesn't have to experience pain and heartbreak. As I've said, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
Heartbreak is easily the worst feeling there is.

You're right, it is the worst feeling there is. So when I see an odd situation with two people bound to get hurt I have every right to be a cynical bastard. Honest to god I hope they live happily ever after, but experience has shown me otherwise.

Infared, thansk dude, a lot. I appreciate you, Yoyobek, and all the other people who support me on this. Yes, I've found true happiness. We're meeting in person either the 19th or 21st of April and whats so great about it is, our families are meeting also, so we can bring things out in the open. We've already e-mailed each others parents explaining how we feel, and everyone seems to be ok with it.

Re: A Totse Wedding....
Cath trust me, I understand why you might be sitting there thinking 'This shit ain't never gonna work'. We both had our doubts in the very beginning, but that was nearly 10 months ago, and instead of us growing apart over time like everyone said, we only grew together.
I know it is probably going to feel weird for me, when I see her in April for the first time and the realization that 'Oh my God, this girl your seeing now is the girl your going to marry in a couple of years' kicks in. But I love and trust her when she says this is something she wants with all her heart, and will never back out of, just like I won't.
Oh and Yoyo, no, true love isn't dead yet

I kid...I'm a sick fuck.
Anyways, congratulations you two. I've never seen an internet relationship work out this well, or even seem to be stable, so you're doing okay I guess.

It's not going to work. Thats 2 years away, she's still not done finding herself as an adult and you're already making adult decisions. You're 5 years older than her. When you were her age she was 11.

Lazz, can't you just say 'I don't agree, but I'm glad you two are happy?'
I was very scared she was going to discover I was 'just a phase' and our relationship would break apart. I do not know how I know she won't, I just feel it. I got to trust my heart someday, and this is as good a time as any. I believe her when she tells me shes never going to drift, and I know she believes me when I tell her I'll happily wait those 2 years on her.
Believe me, I know it sounds ridiculous. Ridiculous perhaps, but not impossible, and I intend to prove it.
Oh, we're getting pictures of us in April when we meet, anyone want them posted?

Re: A Totse Wedding....
Vamp, Berrith; you two may or may not have figured this out, but one sad truth you guys are going to have to realize is that the world's full of cynical assholes like Lazzarro who won't see past petty quantitative things like age differences, appearances, etc. Your best option is to just ignore it, and don't ever for a second give those sorts of people any heed. Chances are they've been burned in life/love, and it may just be their way of expressing that, when they see others who haven't/aren't having the sames sorts of issues; it ain't your goddamn faults. It's shit they need to work on. Just some advice.
And also, fact of the matter is, IP's simply can't be the same unless they're the same computer. There is one of two possibilities: Vamp and Berrith are the same (I hope not), or Smile is just being an asshole and threw the "same IP" thing out, even though it's not true, knowing most people are rash and quick to judge, and will take it at face value. Not so with me.
Anyway, yeah.

Your IPs are completely different. "Smile" is a dumbass schmoe who's been smoking crack and needs to take his/her own "advice" to get a life. S/he can't even access the IPs. The other way you could show the same IPs is if you use the same ISP and you're located close to each other.

Infrared, not everybody speaks out of spite, dont be so quick to disregard peoples opinions as being spiteful and them venting their "problems" onto Vamp (Although some of the stuff said was unneccesary).
That aside, Vamp congrats BUT dont pop the cork yet mate. There is a reason why there are so many threads about how fickle teenage girls are, I suggest you read them. Not trying to piss on your glory but keep yourself guarded because if this does fail you'll be looking down the barrel of a gun pepped up with your suicidal drug-of-choice.
Two years to wait, christ, your going to clock up masturbation:sex ratio records. I honestly doubt either of you are aware of how long two years is especially since Berrith will be doing the majority of her "Growing up" in this time. She will change and you're going to have to accept that, whether this change constitutes how much she loves you may or may not be an issue but be prepared.
I could probably crap on about negative stuff but I think ill stop there purely because you both need to be happy in ALL aspects of life to have the strength to keep this up. Good luck to both of you, conquer what seems to be unconquerable and live the rest of your lives knowing you won.

Ps. Dont hesitate to look in google for LDR advice because there is some good Shit (http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/s/a/sar242/ldr.html) out there.

Switch, thanks for your concern man. Its good to know someone can disagree with us without being an ass about it.
I know two years is a long time, and I have told Angela before she is free to go find someone else should her feelings for me ever waver. I did not ask her to remain boyfriendless during this time, nor did she ask me to abstain from other girls. Its something we both volunteered to do.
I know she has some growing up to do, and I can understand where someone may say she will grow out of me. But I've talked to her friends, friends shes had since she was still in 2nd and 3rd grade, and they all have told me she never EVER abandons a friendship she shows interest and concern with, and that the relationship between the two of us has been what shes shown the most interest and love for in her entire life.
I don't think she and I will drift. I had my concerns, just as she did. But after talking to her friends and family, and after everything we've been through and all this time, I put absolute trust and faith in her.

Wait, you've been dating 8 months (not really dating, its on the internet), and you plan to get married... DOES ANYONE ELSE REALIZE WHY DIVORCE RATES ARE SO HIGH?
Christ, 8 months does not equate into a lifetime of love. I've been with girls for four times that amount and I knew enough not to marry them. Your making extremely adult decisions that will affect you for the rest of your lives, and you need to be extremely careful.
Good on you if it works, but I'm going to place my bets on a horse that will deliver.

Re: A Totse Wedding....
Divorce rates are high because people marry the wrong person for the wrong reasons. It's pitiful that so many people don't marry for love, but for status, convenience, to please parents/friends, and unplanned pregnancies. People marry because they're in love with the concept of being love, not with each other.
It is indeed possible to have an idea in your head as to what you'd like in a mate, and *poof* suddenly (it seems) that person materializes. It's rare, painfully rare, but it does happen. I know it does, because it's happened to me, but I won't elaborate because a) I don't want to steal Vampire & Berrith's thunder and b) I'm afraid I'll jinx it. And I met him online, and we've known each other maybe about 8 months and we do have a serious committment to each other.
It's natural for people to be skeptical 'cause such a thing hasn't happened to them. But knocking someone else's good fortune isn't going to improve yours, so why bother?

Re: A Totse Wedding....
In the most genuine way I say good luck.
Far be it for me to judge.
When I was fifteen I was engaged to a twenty five year old.
Didn't make it pass the alter.
A year and a half later I married someone else.
We got divorce two years later.
Since then I've been married twice.: Once in Vegas and once in Reno.
I like getting married. Just not being married.
Anyways, there's always divorce.
Cheers,
Lost

Re: A Totse Wedding....
Thanks again everyone. I truely believe it will work out, and I know Angela does too. I've promised her before I'll do anything in this world (within reason) to make it work. I keep my promises.

Re: A Totse Wedding....
Thanks Switch, I always try to post in the right forum if possible (honestly, why ISN'T it?)
Spiffy, I will see you there then. My thanks goes out to the Canadian guy also
And she knows what an ugly fucker I am, shes seen enough pictures of me. Yes, I may be highly unattractive, in face and body, but if shes willing to overlook it, I think I'll be ok
