I broke up with my girlfriend today and I held her while she cried for 45 minutes. We'd been going out for a week and a half. I feel so bad because I know I hurt her feelings.

She told me just the day before yesterday that she really likes me a lot and tonight she told me she's never felt this way about anybody. We were together for a week and a half, we'd been kind of seeing each other for about a month before.

We're just too different though, it'd never work out. She's, not to be mean but to put it blunt, a nerd. That's not the reason though. She's a real sweet, innocent girl. I was her 2nd boyfriend.

Have any of you ever felt really bad after dumping somebody? I still care about her and I know I hurt her feelings but it wasn't gonna work out.

You were together a week and half? That's what, 10 days? If it's true that it takes twice as long to get over someone as you were together with them, she's scheduled to be over it in less than three weeks. Not be cold, but big deal.

On a related note, dudes should never hold a chick while she's crying over the break up. It's bad for her, and it's bad for the guy.

I did the breaking up in two serious relationships. I felt very bad on the first one because really, there was nothing wrong with the guy, our lives just happened to go two different directions during the year after highschool and he didn't see it the way I did... very difficult to explain to him.

The second one I had mixed feelings, the guy was a liar. He always told lies, stupid little lies. It just seemed like he was incapable of being honest about certain things and after almost 2 years my patience finally reached its end. I felt bad that I was hurting him as badly as I was, he nearly lost it, but it felt sooo good being rid of him.

Hopefully she wont end up with another asshole like yourself...

I felt really bad one time with this girl wwho I thought I really liked and we were on the verge of splitting cos we never really got to see each other but I said we can make it work. yea, i know how you feel. i was in a relationship for about 5 monthes or so, and i finally came to realize that i didnt have anything in common with her at all and that i had no clue why i was with her in the first place. we got along all right, but we didnt really connect, ya know? anywho to make a long story short, the exact same thing happened to me, and i held her while she cried. she might get spiteful toward you for a while afterward, but she will get over it.
