Default Best way of letting someone down.

Who here thinks they know the best way of telling someone. After you break up you remain friends, and after a while you don't want to be friend anymore. What do you guys think is the best way to do so?

I just did this today. I don't know how it worked out seeing as we are not friends anymore, it's for the best for both of us. We were both getting harder and harder to relate to. So I just decided fuck it, if we can't relate while we're friends whats the point you know.

Just gradually phase out- if you go up to someone "I dont want to be friends anymore" it sounds more like a first-grader speaking. If the feeling is mutual,it will happen casually. To be friends with someone you have to make SOME sort of effort-ie: calling, hanging out, IMing...etc. so if most of these things cease over-time, the friendship dies out.

Exactly and it seems really mutual between us. There is really no bond left and everything we talk about on the phone, IM it just seems numb, like theres nothing there, we're only talking because we feel we have to.

then dont say anything

but dont act like you hate her, just make small talk occassionally when you see her, "hows work going" stuff like that. Or talk to her about it and see if the feeling is mutual, but since you're ending a "friendship" it seems kinda dumb advice
