me and this girl went out off and on for like a year. it was the first REAL thing ive ever been in with anyone. when we went off and on she would keep breaking up with me and then telling me she liked me again within the next week. we ended up breaking up like 6 or 7 times the whole year. like two or three months ago she broke up with me for good. she doesnt talk to me anymore and likes other ppl and totaly changed all preppy and stuck up and whatnot.

now the confusing part

her best friend(who used to come everywhere with us) and me have become really good friends. i think im starting to like her but just feel like it would be weird if i said anything cuz of us being awsome friends and her being so good friends with my ex.

ya well now she doesnt like my ex. she talks to me about hating her cuz she told ppl all this bad stuff about her. i really think i like her and i have no clue if she likes me at all.

Run and hide.

You're dealing with high school minds, which means it's very possible she either doesn't hate your ex at all and is only convincing herself she does so she can go after you without feeling guilty, or she is pissed at your ex and thinks the best way to get back at her is to draw you into the middle of it. Neither option is much fun to deal with.

If you actually want a girl who likes you, you have to make a judgment call about this one, but you're probably better off walking away.

naw i think she really doesnt like her. shes deffently not just telling herself she hates her and she deffently isnt trying to draw me into the middle of everything.

Then that would seem to simplify things, no? Give it more time to see if you can get a better read on how she sees you, but if you're right, then either she likes you or she doesn't. What she has to say about your ex is irrelevant, as is the fact they used to be friends (ie. don't feel weird about going after her if you sense she likes you).
