How exactly does one pick up a date?

I'm not the greatest looking guy, not much personality, I have no special skills, and once again, I'm not great looking. There are a few venues in town that I frequent (concert places that I go to on weekends) but the malls here are filled with chicks that I could never get, and I never seem to be able to pick up a date.

What sort of advice do ya got for picking up some good looking chicks that aren't stuck up their own ass, aren't bitches and might actually be worthwhile? And not just in bed.

i used to be the same....had no looks,no money and no car.girls just were'nt interested.then one day "a mate" spread the rumour around college that i was gay and seeing this other boy.(i'm not and was'nt).

If your an adolescant, then I suggest the all too common GEEK-BABE. That's right, the dorky good girls who have recently developped some style and are damn hot. Most of the time this species have friends that are fat/ugly/both and are dorky too. These are the best kind of women: they are dorky, not always worrying about pointless girl shit, and EASY to get.

If you actually spent some time reading that neg-hit thingy you'd have realised that it's your key to the hot ones. Instead of posting confused smileys, just look into what people tell you to.

the gay thing does work, you like tell them your gay, have a big conversation like just gossiping bout people you both know ect, then say your not really gay and prove it to her.

or become good friends with her thinking your gay, then say youve got feelings for her that youve never had before.

ive never used that 1 but im sure i saw it in a film.

Hey fuck all that "girls that ill never be with shit" I use to think id never get a hot girl or even a girl for that matter till my freshman year and damn I got a real hot girl. And now that I reread your post it looks like my advice is more for someone trying to get laid or just a girl for sexual relatioins but it should apply to any senario but if your looking for a girl youll like thats not just a fine peice of ass just go to a place you like to hang out or to like a "club" whatever place where theres an event type thing that you like to do like I dont know im to tired to think this is for the nerdy very kiddie types like if you like to play pokemon cards(do people still play that shit I dont know just first thing that came to mind) go to one of those tounament thingys and if you see a girl thats cute try talking to her because you got one thing in common besides the fact you both live with your parents wheter your a little 12year old or some 33year old who lives in his parents basement, the pokemon thing was just like an example since I dont think anyone even plays pokemon anymore if it still is cool with any age group.
