Re: abortion
You can get a free abortion if you have a coathanger. Don't need anyone around either.

Re: abortion
For most places, go to your planned parenthood and they will do it for you with out an 18 year old. But as mentioned above, some states require it. Best idea, just call your local clinic. Look in the phone book under abortion, not abortion options. Or go to www.plannedparenthood.com (http://www.plannedparenthood.com) and search it.

abortion is the foulest sort of murder.any woman who kills her baby is below contempt.shooting is too good for them....
(yeah this is one subject where i ain't my usual sweet self)
ps.btw abortion= killing a baby for no good reason or after rape.medical termination to save the life of the mother is something totally different.

So you would prefer the child grows up in a horrible abusive enviroment where it won't get the physical and emotional support it should, rather than be aborted before it can think and feel?
Abortion because you got drunk and acted like a slut is wrong, but having the ironic luck of the condom breaking and then getting pregnant when you can't afford to have the kid?
Depends on the circumstances mate..

Never said it was the kids fault. I'm just saying, it'd be alot more benefical for all parties involved if the kid wasn't born in some circumstances. Like, to a crackwhore. I don't see why the kid should grow up in that enviroment, it seems more responsible for her to have an abortion and realize that no, a kid would be a horrible idea.
Seriously, there are some people who shouldn't have kids under their current circumstances. A life time of misery for both parent(s) and child is somehow better than killing something that doesn't have it's own thoughts or needs yet?
I'm not saying it's the perfect solution, but in some cases, it's definetly benefical that no child be born into certain enviroments.

Re: abortion
jackteck...tis people like you that piss me off. paranoid pothead...tis people like you that make my day.
In the case of a someone under 18, they can NOT possibly be a good parent. Go ahead and throw out "my neighbor had 93 kids by the time she was 18 and they are all happy and alive etc." but for every one case of good there are 100 bad cases. 18 year olds in todays AMERICAN society (i do agree that in some other societies this is different) are not emotionally ready to raise a child. The psychological effects of parenthood/ pregnancy are far to intense.
A child raised in home where it is in a bad circumstance, and has a bad childhood, there is a good chance of that child growing up to be less than responsible.
Just wondering, but is abortion still wrong to you if the child is going to have a destructive disease (say a child will have MD, and probably live until 21, and be able to actually see himself suffering and withering away until he dies, all the while understanding what is going on)? should we not save him the immense suffering?

Re: abortion
Everyone has their opinions.. you know, the 'ol asshole adage. I quit debating after I argued with Spirit for 6 pages about rape. There sometimes comes a point (in these gray, moral issues) that after so much reference to law, dogma, values, psychology, and philosophy, you can no longer defend your opinion. No matter how much information [read] cold hard facts you have to back it up, opinion, will not change.
Just warning anyone that wants to jump in on this debate. It'll get pretty intense. Be prepared to defend yourself. *Ahem*
Anyways, fuck Planned Parenthood. That shit's like $500. PP has the name, that's why it costs so much. You can find an equally qualified clinic that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
If you're in the US, you're most likely in a state that requires judicial bypass. (This is a court consent that allows you to have an abortion without parental consent, legally). Yeah, you can imagine how long that would take.
If you have socialized medicine - good for you. (I think it covers abortion, not sure though).
Either way, receiving the medical care shouldn't be the problem.
I think financially, it would be better to tell your parents. (That is, if they'll support your decision to have an abortion). That way, you won't have to pay your way through court.
Another plus, is time. Time is ticking, my dear, and that's a major factor when it comes to abortion. You wait too long and you won't be able to terminate your problems away. By having to go through the court system you're delaying what should be done. Everyday you wait is sealing your fate. If you get your parents involved )and they support you), you'll be able to get the abortion quicker.

I'd rather have a bad childhood than none at all, and a mother should have enough love for her child as to even die for him/her.

Re: abortion
Mojo...planned parenthood, despite their name and 500$ prices, is good for people under the age of 18. A lot of planned parenthood's that i know of will offer discounted or free abortions to people under the age of 18 who need it...that could be my area only, though. But you are right that if you can not get coverage, the other clinics are a good place to go, with equivilent service, and should be a little less parenty in the "dont do it again manner".
If cost is going to be a big deal, which given that you are under 18 it probably is, i would advise you to go with the RU pill. it tends to be about 150-200$ cheaper.

You don't know the meaning of bad childhood though. Maybe the mother has enough love to realize that she's only going to cause great misery to the child?
My aunt for example, should never have had kids. Beats the hell out of the older one, and beat the younger one so he's now brain damaged. Oh, he knows what's going on around him, but he won't lead a normal life because he doesn't function like a normal person. She knows she should have had an abortion, but her husband maintains it's 'evil and wrong'. So now they have one brain damaged child, and one who's already attempted suicide.
Woo, hell yes, one dead child, and one who won't be able to live a fully functional life... Oh so much better for the children than not having been born.

Handicapped does not mean 'going to die by age 21 in a horrible way where their body degenerates and they suffer miserably'. The second, it is not justified making someone suffer a short life time just so they can die that way. It's just cruel.

Re: abortion
Ok first off to the fucks with their coathangers! I hear sticking one up the male uerethra is great for kicks too so why not give it a go! Assholes.
I dont really know about the laws regarding abortion where you are but I will say to you that you do need to look into a whole lot more than just if you need an over 18 with you before getting one.
I mean I am of the belief that abortion is not a form of contraceptive but there are a good few times when it should be used like after rape or if the mother or baby isin danger etc, other than that the whole it cant be given a loving envoirenment thig, well there are alot of people out there wanting kids that cant have them so in cases like this the child should be fostered or adopted as in most cases when the mother grows older they live to regret it and at least oif the child was put up for adoption they know that its ok.
Not trying to preach or anything I mean my own g/f has had to endure it for he worst possiblke reason and I will never stop feeling bad for her haing to go though all that.
