a GF or a friend?
I was thinking about what i would look for in a GF, and i think that they would need to be my friend above anything, I would want to tak with them and hang with them like i do with ym firneds, but i would also want to have a heavier relationship. I would want those to be to seperate things, like i want my GF and a friend, the same person,
I dont know how to explain it, kind of like a friend that i love so much, and then a friend that i make love to. does that makes sense? I think that would be so cool, lot like a friend with benefits because that dosent work out, but I have never had a freid that i loved and really cared for. I know thats what a gf is supposed to be ( or at least i think so ).
oh well, when i get to chicago i will start looking for a real gf. Does anyone live there? if so i need to meet people there, in the week i visited my dad I met a lot of cool girls. i think that chicago girls are the coolest, I know that they differ all over the city, im talking abotu between
the linkin park and wriglys field area. all the girls i met were so cute and nice.

Re: a GF or a friend?
Wow a young guy on the right track, sort of.
A girlfriend is only going to last if you are good friends. Relationships that start on sex and continue like that will wane in most cases, sad but true. Most of the succesful marriages and LTR's I know are based on being best friends first. You need something to talk about with your clothes on and when you are in trying times.
Second point is that actively looking/searching for a girlfriend is not the greatest mindset to be in. You should tell yourself that you are not looking but you are receptive. Become a little more introspective and look after yourself. Develope your interests and strong points, go to the gym alot and play some sports. Get out there and do shit. If you aren't actively trying to seek out the "perfect" girlfriend she will fall right into your lap. I'm not suggesting you play hard to get or that you be someone you are not. I'm just saying that if you relax, be confident and take your time good things will happen, girls can tell when a guy is actively looking and it puts the best ones off.
This has worked for me all the time.

Re: a GF or a friend?
I recently broke up with my girlfriend of three years. It was really out of nowhere and because of that I have feelings of hate and abandonment. Now I can't even talk to her because everytime I did I would break down and cry and ask her over and over to take me back.
The absolute worst part of it is though, that over these three years I've alienated a good share of my friends and now I don't have anyone to talk to.
To say that I miss her is actually wrong, because what I really miss most is my best friend. She was the person I used to goto about everything. She was the only person I really trusted, and I feel like I've lost it.
She still wants to be my friend, but we both agreed that I need some time without her to get my thought together. It hurts me not being able to talk to her now, but when I consider that I was just sobbing before, this is the best alternative.

Re: a GF or a friend?
Basically mate, you're looking for a chick who likes to sit and watch TV, talk, joke and not mind when you compliment a sexy woman but still but still be with you.
I thought I had that...Turns out it's bullshit.
Just get friendly with your right hand.

Re: a GF or a friend?
You say you want a best friend and lover all rolled into one? Have you looked into your already-best-friend girls? Sometimes, converting them into romantic relationships works out quite well, despite what most people will tell you.

Aw, not total bullshit. I'm more likely to make comments about a women's arse than my fiance is, I don't mind him looking, considering I'm more likely to be doing the same.
But yeah, the problem with friendships that turn into relationships is, if you break up, you're pretty likely to lose a very close friend. Which hurts alot more than just losing a fuck buddy.
Although, they tend to be more fun relationships.
The true task: Finding a bird who won't get offended as fuck when you see her first thing in the morning and blurt out 'You look like shit' accidently when she's hungover.
Aye, I don't suceed in relationships with women...
Damn.
