Has anyone else ever seen this? How big are the fucking TVs in vehicles nowadays? How closely do you have to be paying attention to the inside of someone else's car to notice not just that they're watching a movie on the built-in DVD player, but that it's a porno, and you can see it so clearly that it upsets you (or your kids, as mentioned in one case in the linked article)?

I'm baffled. We're not talking about popping open the hatch, busting out some lawn chairs, plugging a TV into a portable generator connected to your cigarette lighter, and chilling on the street with some X-rated goodness on the tube. I can understand why the one driver was arrested, if he was just sitting on the street with porn blaring out, but if the window was shut, I return to the question of how big are these screens? And how often are people doing this? I'm sure it's not an epidemic like a headline story on Yahoo might suggest, but there must be more than isolated incidents.

On top of all that lies the biggest question of all: Why the hell are people sitting there watching porn in their cars? It's jerkoff material, people! If you're not doing something else that can get you arrested for indecency, what's the goddamn point of turning it on in the first place?

I have seen plenty of folks masturbate while driving. Maybe it is "art" not porn. Plenty of films which could be considered hardcore porn get sold as "art", and some folks actually watch them as art. Having said that, those dont tend to be the people who have tvs in their car.

But I agree, Spiffy. Why does someone need to have a tv the size of my home tv in their car? Same as why someone has a better camera on there phone than my actual camera. Some people have too much money, but maybe im just being a bit bitter.

How odd. I thought it was illegal to have a tv/video/dvd screen in view of the driver. The ones I've seen are usually in mini-vans and are visible only to those in the back. Sure, wanking to porn is best done in privacy, but I'm somehow more irked by people who get bent out of shape because their kids saw people having sex. The same people wouldn't raise objections about images of violence, which are far more pervasive in the media.

I don't understand why in our society sex is so shunned. We and our kids can watch people get murdered on tv every night, but when there's a titty on it all hell breaks loose. Sex is natural, killing your own race isn't.

Its probably a lot to do with religious influences... even then though, nudity shouldnt be looked down on so much, after all, Adam and Eve went around nude.

When they ate the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil(not an apple), they realized they were naked, and overed themselves.

It's an allegory, repsresenting the seperation of humans from other animals. We know good from evil, we are aware of our own existence, of our own mortality. We are not purely creatures of instinct, like the other animals, we have to make moral decisions.

Animals are naked all the time, you see. They don't know, they don't care. They're oblivious to it, because it's natural to them. It's not so for humans. Well, most humans.
