Ok so two weeks ago my girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me for various reasons. One of which was that she wanted to experience the college life considering she hasn't seriosuly been single for the past 3 years. I've felt like shit and I want her back so badly...

So anyways tonight she was out and I was on duty (Im an RA) and some girl who lives down the hall from me comes back from a party in a "tipsy" stage. Literally tipsy, not drunk and she knew what she was doing. Either way, she starts coming onto me and she comesu p to my room when I got off duty. We hung around and the more she was here the more she came onto me. She was rubbing my hair, and most of the rest of my body. So I knew this chick wanted to jump my bones. Well I decided to kick her out... yeah I know, Im sure some of you are saying Im an idiot. But heres why:

1) She reaks of cigarette smoke and now my entire room fucking stinks!

2) And most importantly... I just couldn't do it. I love my girlfriend and I want her back so badly.

So heres my question, do you think I should try and move on? I know my girlfriend might come back to me, and if she does I'd take her back, but Im just afraid maybe I'd have missed something...

I suppose I can attribute your conclusions to the fact that I didn't do a good job explaining the situation with my girlfriend.

But I don't have the patience for a long winded statement right now, so the short of it is that we're kind of on a break.

And secondly, if you could have sex with a girl and not tell a significant other then you are a terrible human being and are half the reason decent girls are almost impossible to find.

Kicking the girl out doesn't mean you're pathetic and pining away for your ex, it just means you have common sense and you're not going to pounce on the first available (not to mention easy) piece of ass that happens your way.

It's also good to allow a few weeks of 'alone time' for yourself after a relationship. This not only gives both of you the opportunity to consider reconciliation (if the break-up was a poor choice) but it also prevents the rebound girl/guy fiasco.
