Default dating do's and don'ts?

Hey, my question is about some things to do and not to do on a date/any-time-with-a-girl-you're-trying-to-get-with. I figured this could be a general advice thread also, so if anyone could contribute some general knowledge about the opposite sex and dating, it'd be quite appreciated.

A good do is when she is talking to you listen to her take an intrest in what she is saying, also lots of eye contact and casually touch her on the knee, sholder whatever and just be a gentelmen.Try to keep the conversation flowing, laugh at her jokes etc.

Dont talk about yourself to much, dont be over aggresive with the flirting like dont slap her on the ass at every oppertunity, dont tell her about other girls you have fucked or would like to fuck.

Now i dont like people who just use girls so dont do that becouse that will make you an asshole, now i admitt that i have used girls in the past but try my best not to any more.

I was going to edit the spelling but i cant be bothred so fuck you.

Oxy-moron...you make me chuckle...

But really...Know the girl before you go out with her. I don't care if you have to spy on her to find out, but if you really want to keep a girl, you have to know what she is like. You're going to want to treat her different if she is material rather than relaxed.

Offer to pay for everything. Girls like that. Even if they say "no, ill pay my half" they will still be really happy you asked. You may even want to convince them to let you pay.

Open her car door and have good manners. If you slam a door in a girls face, you wont be going back out with her! I guess that is a duh type thing, but it's important.

I dont really know any great advice to give unless you know what type of girl you're trying to get.

Stupidity is dressing up, taking a girl somewhere, paying for everything, being on your best behavior, holding your farts in, just in the hope you might get to bone her.

that is kind of silly i suppose, but really, in dating, you should just be yourself, if the girl doesn't like you the way you are then it's not worth it, especially if you have to fake the whole being nice part, if she's not happy about who you are then fine, there's a likely chance that there is a girl out there who does/would.

[edit]stupidity is when you have to do a complete 180 on yourself to please someone.

Aloneandbroken, you could not be more wrong.

If you offer to pay and be a total gentleman like mommy taught you to act around women, I guarantee things will be worse off.

Paying and acting gentlemanly will come off as being nervous, and feeling so little confidence that you need to show how "good of a guy" you are to impress her. You might as well rap up your balls in a nice frilly bag and give them to her as a gift.

Better ideas would be to fuck with her mind alittle, and use sexual tension to your advantage. Make her thoughts go to "God, does this guy like me or not? hmm...I think ill find out...."

those are my 2 cents. um...aloneand broken, you sound like a dirty little emo kid and i hate emo kids.

Yeah, because you know what all girls like.

If a girl wants to date me, she better be prepared to spend at least $120 on alcohol for me.

Ludicrous.

Offering to pay, or just going ahead and paying, does not say a goddamn thing about your confidence level. Everything revolves around not what you do, but how you do it. I can absolutely see how some guy could show a girl his balls are already packaged nicely to fit in her purse by jumping at the check, running around to open every door for her, and basically doing every chivalrous thing he knows, but only if he's obviously doing it with the mindset that she's going to be upset if he doesn't, and the last thing he wants to do is upset her.

Compare that to a guy who calmly strides to the door of a restaurant, opens it, and lets his date in. After eating, the check comes; he lifts it, reads it, and removes an appropriate amount of cash (or a credit card) from his wallet. If the girl reaches for her purse, he shakes his head and says he's got it, don't worry. When they leave, he opens the door for her, lets her seat herself comfortably, then goes to the driver side and hops in. At her place, he walks her to the door and kisses her goodnight.

This is an example of a guy whose state of mind is that this is the proper way to treat his date. Although these are all the actions you said will render someone less than a man, only the most airheaded retards would count any of it against this guy because he's not doing it to impress; he's doing it because that's how he feels it should be done.

If there's any danger in this- and I use the term loosely- it's if the girl is so shallow that she expects that level of treatment forever and ever. If she gets locked into that state of mind, most guys will eventually get tired of her because it will take more and more effort to impress. But that's the girl's problem.. a guy who finds himself in that situation should rest assured he can do better.

fuck that shit, she can open doors for me, pay for me and make it look seamless. if i see any hint of ass kissing, shes gone. if she doesnt pay, shes done. and heaven forbid if she doesnt open a fucking door for me...

its about time we stop being such pussies and make women actually DO something for us.

RagingPussy are you a girl or a boy?

Either you are a dumb girl or you are a boy with little to no action.

I am a girl, and I know what I like. I have a lot of friends who are girls too. Guess what they like? Oh, shit...they like what i like. If a man ever took me out for dinner and didn't at least offer to pay, I would feel that he was treating me like a buddy, not a date and would be offended. Spiffy is absolutely right. I would date spiffy, because given his post he actually understands the first date logic.

I am neither dirty, nor an "emo kid". You sound like a little kid who only leaves his computer to go and watch the fuzzy porno on the cable channels he doesn't get in hopes of seeing boobies. I feel terrible for your dates...Just to let you know, sexual tension works...for hot guys and guys who are intriguing, not just any old guy.

Mrman...I do do things for boys. I think the woman should be at home cooking a steak and ready to please her man. But I do believe that in turn, that deserves chivalry.

Grow up, children, grow up.

once again, fuck that. what first date have you been on that involved you being at home cooking a steak and being ready to please the guy? yea, didnt think so. thats the bullshit agreement given to a man whos already got his balls taken from him. "oh ill cook for you and blow you when you step in the door, but only after youve given up every ounce of freedom and committed to me". no thinking person is going to fall for your stupid little shell game. what kind of idiot pays for you when there may never be a second date and said benefits may never be paid?

^ that's really good advice.

But Mr.Man good lord, You said "its about time we stop being such pussies and make women actually DO something for us." I just told you that most girls ARE willing to do something for you IF YOU WILL TREAT US WELL. I never said that i cook a dinner and blow a guy for a first date, I just said women do things later in a relationship if they are treated well.

I don't know that I have ever expected a guy to give up every ounce of freedom and commit to me before I'll do him some favors. But I do know that if a guy just expected me to pay for my dinner (dont get me wrong, I am all too willing to pay my share once the guy has offered to pay) or didn't act with any ounce of chivalry, I wouldn't do him any deals.

The kid said what to do on a date when you are trying to get with the chick. I told him what to do if you want to fuck the chick. If he wants a free dinner, maybe he should listen to you.

Seriously, do you ever get second dates while using your little theory?

first of all:

quote:I never said that i cook a dinner and blow a guy for a first date, I just said women do things later in a relationship if they are treated well.

i gotta pay up immediately because im male? fuck you.

second, i dont make offers that i dont intend to keep. so im not going to offer to pay for something i have no intention of paying for. you ate it, you pay for it. where the fuck do you get off thinking a guy is expected to pay just because he took your skanky ass out? fuck you, you start paying. seriously, what do you really expect to do on a first date? get a free meal, a good time and decide whether to keep your fish or throw it back? fuck that shit. if im going out, its with a woman, not a prostitute. if you think i owe it to you to pay you for your time, fuck you.

finally, and this is going to shock you, not all cunts need to be paid and if you do it right, you dont even need a first "date" let alone a second. dating benefits women, fucking benefits me. why take a girl to dinner when you can go out, have fun and still get fucked?

I've offen found that when people cannot intelligently get their point across, they begin cursing or yelling.

quote: i gotta pay up immediately because im male? fuck you.

No, you intended to show manners, courtisy, at least offer to pay the bill. Truth be told, most women now adays perfer to split the bill anyways, however, they still much rather hear the offer first. It's simply commen curtosey.

quote: second, i dont make offers that i dont intend to keep. so im not going to offer to pay for something i have no intention of paying for. you ate it, you pay for it. where the fuck do you get off thinking a guy is expected to pay just because he took your skanky ass out? fuck you, you start paying.

Now this comes to a fairly new point. in this day and age, most women have jobs, back in the time of our parents, it was coman for the men to usualy pay, simply becuase it was a hell of alot more commen for men to have jobs on a higher ratio then women. In this day in age. usual if YOUR the one to ask the female on a date, you are esentionaly saying you will court her, and take her out on a evening at your expensive, the same aplies to women. If a women asks a male on a date, she is intened to pay. From what ive seen though, usualy the bill is just split. One thing I will make a note of is that if a man takes me out on a date and he pays for me, i will be alittle more impressed in him, simply becuase it shows he cares enough to pay the bill himself.

quote: finally, and this is going to shock you, not all cunts need to be paid and if you do it right, you dont even need a first "date" let alone a second. dating benefits women, fucking benefits me. why take a girl to dinner when you can go out, have fun and still get fucked?

No. You see, what you just explained is simply "screwing around". In this day and age, that is hardley a big deal, let alone somthing to brag about. It isn't hard at all to fuck someone. However, to properly date, go out, be social, show manners, and actualy start a real relationship to have a compainion, and not just a fuck buddy, is just a tad bit different. From what I gather from your posts, all you have done, is have fuckbuddies, shown no manners or even have the slightest bit of intention of even trying to court a girl.

Now for my two cents. I personaly, could really care less how much money a man spends on me. What matters to me, is how much effort he puts into the relationship and actualy shows hes trying. I'm one of those girls who could end up getting a macoroni necklace from a guy who put his heart into making it and I would end up likeing it much better then if he didn't really care, yet spend thousands of dollars on a diamond necklace, just to say he gave me something. He could take me on a date to taco bell, but atleast pull out the chair for me, ask me how my day was, play footsie with me under the table and show intrest and care. A romantic evening at home to me can be as simple as eating pizza in the dark and playing silent hill 3 or warcraft.

I cant be bothered getting into this.

Lets just agree that I will never date you or anyone like you and you the same for me. That way, we will never have to deal. People can decide whose advice to take. But just to let you know, you should try to fuck the women who you have to date first rather than the loose goose who fucks for free because a) chances of STD's with the classy chick are way less and b) your girlfriend has an obligation to put out...your fuck friend doesnt.

I remember I once completely turned around what would otherwise have been a rude gesture...I purposefully didn't open the car door for a chick once, and she said in a half-serious manner, "Why didn't you open the door for me? That wasn't very gentlemanly!" And I said to her, "I would have, but you know, I can tell you're a strong and independent chick who doesn't need kiddie glove treatment, and I respect you a lot for that." She was pretty flattered. No, it didn't get me laid that night, but it worked very well in my favor.

good point. saying it a little early can scare some people (girls & guys); some will run away from it and others will have the right mind to say they don't feel the same way and just say it back when they feel it.

bottom line: don't say what you don't mean.

(oh and it doesn't really make you a wanker, it just means you're more open hearted, not everyone can handle that tho)
