Experimenting with their lives, with their self-expression, and with their newfound sexual freedom.

And we know precisely what this kind of new attitude toward a woman's worth created, in the long run -- women who were happier and who lived lives which were fully their own and richer with experience.

The value of female virginity is an anachronism ... it only exists in our minds because it has for so long in the past. It used to be that a man could sue if his bride-to-be was found to be a non-virgin, and likewise it used to be that a father could sue if his unmarried daughter was deflowered before she could be married off. If we place any value on female virginity these days, it is probably for the wrong reasons.

Anachronisms aside, we can certainly consider the practical aspects of virgins vs. nonvirgins.

For example, a virgin woman, although almost certainly free of STDs and very, very tight, deserves some special consideration. She may never have had an orgasm, or if she did it wasn't likely from intromission/intercourse-type masturbation. Her first sexual experience is likely to be painful and careful attention must be taken to ensure that the negative aspects of her first time don't turn her off of having sex for the rest of her life. That and getting her used to regular sexual activity can be a chore. There's foreplay, oral sex, different positions, and a whole spectrum of fun activities that make up a good sex life and it can take months upon months to teach these to a virgin.

On the other hand, nonvirgins can have a sordid sexual history or a clean one (and it helps to check). Condoms are a pain in the ass but they are necessary these days. Nonvirgins can be tight, loose, or somewhere in-between. If she is lucky, she may already have some idea of her orgasmic potential, and may already know some of the tricks you might want her to know. The historic and the practical issues aside, I believe that we, as men who no longer count ourselves among chauvinists, have no business expecting a woman to be a virgin for our benefit.

that's an interesting point of view, i'm just curious why you think that way though, because couldn't someone be under 18 but be more mature about sex in their minds? so if someone was 17 1/2 it makes them a slut or made a bad decision then by your definition (bluntly speaking of course). or even someone who is 16, not all who are under 18 have the same mindset about things in life since we all have different upbringings so i don't think the age thing should be that big of a factor of determining who is a slut and who is not or who is mature enough to make the decision to have sex.
