Heres how it goes, kinda confusing but try to follow as best you can...

My mom's brother's wife (my uncles wife) brought over her niece (my mom's brother's wife's niece -- just want to clarify we are not related)one day to my house to visit. She immediatley caught my eye. I greeted her and showed her around my house. I pulled up a chair for her and let her play my video games, which she found very ammusing. Afterwards we went bowling and had a very good time together. I could tell she was flirting with me and I was flirting back. Anyway, I never got any information about her (telephone number, e mail adress, etc.) and spent a long time away from her. A year later, at my aunts birthday, which was held at a rented hall, I saw her once more, looking as beautiful as can be. My cousins (all where male) where present so I did not make a move. I didnt want them to ridicule me so I waited for them to be gone and once again me and her flirted for awhile. She seemed interested in me but i was not sure. Later me and my cousins went for a walk outside the hall and we saw her in the back next to an older man in a car crying. I didnt know why but I didnt approach her. That night ended and I have only seen her at some minor events. A school basketball game (She lives in a different town than mine, her school came to play agains mine.) And at the movies with her uncle/aunt or grandparents (My mom told me her parents died or she didnt have parents or something. I miss her very much and I dont want to ask my mom or aunt about her because I hate both my mom and my aunt and it would seem awkward for me to ask for her nieces phone number. So now here I am, almost three years from that first day and havent stopped thinking about her since. I can barley remember what she looks like and I already forgot her name, althought i think Iknow what it is, cant say for sure. Please someone guide me in giving me advice on what I should go about doing.

Dude no fucking way, im in the same exact sitution except I got to stay in contact with the girl and we are hooking up this summer maybe sooner just as soon as I go back to Florida and shit it has been three years for me (weird). And it wouldn't be that akward if you asked you could just say you liked spending time with her or something, or next time you see her just ask her for her number or something or just ask her if she likes you, better yet if you want to avoid akwardness if she says she doesn't like you like that just have a few shots of liquior first not enough that your impaired the shots are so you can blame your "weird" question on booze. Well good luck thats all I can think of to tell you.

She is not in my family -- she is related to someone in my family. Also she lives in a distant town. Im 15 so I can't exactly drive there any time I please. Also, to AprenticeChemist it would be awkward because I am very quiet around my family (I never talk to anyone in it) so I basically keep to myself, plus everyone in my family thinks i'm up to no good and will most likely think im only trying to get into her pants.

You seem to really like this girl. You also seem to NOT be able to ask any family member for her number. If you can't do that your options are two-fold; Either man up and ask her yourself the next time you see her OR find someone else. I don't mean to sound insensitive to your situation but the answer is staring you in the face... just gotta take the initiative. Good luck!

Oh well that sucks about that. And its not family man if its through marrige and all. And besides its not that bad I mean Albert Einstien MARRIED his cousin, all the ancient egyptians married thier brothers, sisters, cousins nieces, history is full of ACTUAL blood realitives marring so if someone just goes out with a girl thats a cousin only through marrige it shouldn't be that bad. And whats marrige except a contract and as long as you never considered her a cousin no big deal, ive always considered my love as a friend. And I totally agree with Local Hero that is so true you got to take risks if you spend your life waiting then you'll just have to continue masterbating. And like I said have a few drinks and if it gets akward just blame it on the booze (even if you arn't drunk) and if your worried about it being akward when you ask for her number then why are you worring about even asking her out or something? I don't see how you think if its going to be akward just asking for her number how it won't be akward if you do hook up? But just do what your heart tells you.

guess what? you have a new school project...make a family tree and interview 3 non-blood relatives...it can be something to do with how other cultures are really into extended families and we are not...if they ask questions, you have to also write a paper about another culture that has tighter families...now ask for her damn number

It's like this, you are young, there is alot of life left to live and too many amazing girls out there to be obsessing over some girl that you can't be with because of distance or taboo. I know this girl isn't a blood relation but still she is off limits, and lives far away. You must have something for unavailable women.

yeah where do you live because if its in the south you can always blame your sexual attraction to her on your family, find out that your great great great grand parents were borther and sister and then you can't possibly look worse to your family than them, although that was a long time ago and now adays even if your aunt marries someone with a hot daughter she isn't an option to you...thats just the way it is...find some other girl that actually lives near your house so you can have fun nights ;-) with her, insted of dreamin of this girl whos name and face you forget, and besides shes related to you, do what the rest of you cuzins do, stay away.
