Would you prefer something more formal? A written invitation, perhaps?
Go talk to her man! What are you waiting for?

Re: today was quite confusing
It is shit, I know, but you have just got to fucking ask her out.
"I think you are beautiful, and would like to get to know you better. Would you like to ge see a movie with me this Friday?"
Or
"Bitch, you be banging. I gotta nick' sac, want to go make out and smoke sumda herb? Ya herd!"
Or
"You're pretty. You wanna go do something? Get a cup of coffee? Go see a movie? Anything for the chance to get to know you better."
Even if she says no, it is still good for getting you comfortable with asking chicks out. It is time to man up, or be pathetically alone the rest of your life.

Re: today was quite confusing
I understand your situation; if she turns you down it will be uncomfortable seeing her in class.
Your two options as I see it:
1. Bone-up and ask her out and take the chance.
2. Live your life alone.
If you don't ask her out soon, someone else probally will.
Looking for "signs" is definately pointless if you don't know the girl. Exp. If a girl giggles at you it could mean she thinks you're pretty and shes flustered (sp?) that you looked at her or shes giggling because it's cute that you think you are in the same league as her.
Just be confident. You're in high school, I assume, so just ignore the melo-drama and ask her out finally.
Go get 'em you big hunk of a man. :P
